This class was okay. The professor used online materials and guest speakers to make the course more interesting. What really bothered me was the way she treated international students. She questioned their intelligence by putting up "lower level example essays" for them to study and placed them in groups together separate from the rest of the class.

Learned nothing from this class. She either read passages, said that it was interesting, weird, or different, and explain none of the literary features, along with telling us to go home and look at it more ourselves or read what other authors had said about Shakespeare. NEVER take her if you actually want to learn something.

Really easy but didnt learn anything. Doesnt really teach she tells. Kind of a waste of time if ur care about the tuition money ur paying. Hardcore closet feminist; pretends shes not. Looking back I didn't mind the class but cant remember one thing I might have learned or gained from the experience.

I had the privilege of having Professor Schweik in my first semester at Cal. She is the sort of teacher that acts as your resource and encourages you to achieve your interests within the scope of the topic. If you take the time to interact with her, you will benefit immensely. She just wants you to succeed. Do not B.S. it will be a disadvantage.

A really great professor. For real, I honestly must admit that I have had english professors who were really intelligent but not accessible and vise versa but prof. schweik has both abilities. If you want to be inspired about literature AND learn something, take one of her classes. A great professor.

Susan is the kind of professor that takes a personal interest in actively engaging students. Her class stresses and encourages intellectual self-development through projects or class discussions. She is exceedingly nice, positive, insightful, and funny. Take her, she is an awesome human being!

I paid $600 to watch movies for two months straight. Whenever she actually opened her mouth she said something so dumb I was embarrased to be in class. She didn't even know the PLOTS of the plays, and when I wrote about them, the reader failed me because I obviously couldn't write at a level we were not being taught at.

Very nice prof. Take a class with her if you want to learn at an easy pace. I think in a sense she's too nice because people end up not reading the material (including me :-/)

Really good Prof. Very sensitive and caring of students. She wants you to do well and will try her best to make it happen. If you do better on midterms than final, than your grade will lean more heavily on midterms, or vice versa. Very passionate about topic.

A very motherly type professor who specializes in lesbian and women's literature. Not at all in your face or political though, just a very kind and generous person with a strong command of literature. After the 9/11 attacks she cried in class for about a week. Great prof though, worth taking.
