Excellent orator, but his class is more analysis of the history of philosophy which I don't find useful so he wears thin esp because of his contempt of bus majors when I took his class only because it was required. Best thing is barely any work. 3 papers, 2 tests and attendance points (for just coming and listening to him) and that's it.

Easily one of the best professors I have ever had. Although he was a very tough grader, he just expects you to answer questions fully and be to the point. 3 essays, midterm, & final. I never read any of the books prior to class, but it is important to bring them with you and to have as study guides for tests and write your papers.

I love this man... everything about him. He is so incredibly intelligent, it's amazing. I learned a lot in his class. I would definitely take him again...

Very good teacher. Enthusiastic. Class is challenging, you need to show up to every class and take notes. It would be to your advantage to come to class, because he does take attendance and he does know who you are. Would not have passed if class was taught by someone else.

He is the most enthusiastic lecturer at CSUS. His exams are hard and you really have to know the materials. I made it through the class with an A without reading the texts. Just take good notes and you will be fine. I will recommend but I dunno if I would take him again. lol.

Likely the best lecturer at Sac State. Has a great sense of humor and knows the material inside and out. I've taken two of his classes and I'm not even a history major. This is what university learning SHOULD be like--challenging, rewarding and fun.

Arguably the most intersting and informative courses at the school. He has has tremendous insight into the subject and compliments his lectures well with outstanding reading assignments. He has a very animated style of teaching that will keep you, the student, engaged throughout the class.

He kept it very real, I liked his class, even when it got a little on the boring side. Sometimes I would get lost in class, but he reiterates concepts so many times that a student can find their way back eventually. To do well in the class, a student really must read the material, and know dates and facts; he ties everything together in lecture.

Prof. Williamson is outstanding. His amazing intelligence and enthusiasm can be intimidating at first, but he's very friendly, helpful, and encouraging. I learned a tremendous amount in his class - not only about events but, more importantly, the modes of thinking propelling them. TAKE HIS CLASS!!! Be prepared to be challenged and to read a LOT.

Not a hard class, but you MUST do the work. His lectures take up the entire period and make up a decent percentage of the exam material. He is knowledgeable, dynamic and humorous, which is great. But he can be a bit too literal for the more abstract and analogous thinker. I found I sometimes simply couldn't connect with his thought process.

This class got me to think more than any other class. Dr Williamson has a unique talent to make the subject matter come alive. By far the best class I've ever taken. Time seemed to fly by when listening to lecture. Dr. W, is a very tough when grading, so if youre looking for an easy A, this is NOT the class for you.

Hmm... I love this teacher, but most people come here for easiness factor. You can get away with not reading the book, but he will tease you for it. Unique style of teaching and a VERY dynamic lecturer. He will run past time nearly every day. Three papers (easy), midterm, and final.

As a history major, I looked forward to taking this seminar, but instead he actually killed my love of learning for the entire semester. No teacher has done that before or since, so one can recover one's love of learning upon a summer vacation. Pompous, plays favorites, and gossips about students in vicious ways behind their backs.

Excellent professor- knows his subject, is very clear during lecture, interesting, insightful...I couldn't say enough good things. Take the guy's class- he's not the easiest if you have trouble writing essays, but he's the best.
