Econ250 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

His nightly review sessions are very helpful I highly recommend you go to all of them because thats where he goes out of his way to help students understand the material. Also, use the textbook only for hws dont read it. he didnt put anything on the exams that he didnt spend days on in class and do all the review problems. he doesnt give too many

ECON237 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Also surprised to see so many negative comments. Murray doesn't teach econometrics much any more - but his behavioral and his developing econ. classes are both awesome. He has a way of making you interested in the lecture, and draws you into the subject.

ECON255 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Surprised to see so many negative comments. Murray is a great teacher. Econometrics is a tough course but Murray goes out of his way to help students learn the material. Often holds night sessions for students, if you still don't understand the material in class. One of the best professors I've had here.

Horrible teacher. His book sucks like his teaching style. Total flop. He is so bad that his econometrics text book retail price $150 is selling from $3 brand new on half.com since no one wants that junk. Horrible teacher, very abstract. He is a very nice man though, just wish his teaching was as good. Tenured and arrogant slacker.

ECONStat Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Terrible professor. Statistics is supposed to be a piece of cake. Makes it unnecessarily hard with his abstract teaching style. Statistics is not ABSTRACT, it is the most applicable subject out there with tons of examples. Definitely avoid him. To put things in perspective this post is from an econ major with A's and A+'s in 4 300 level classes.

Hes a great teacher. I disagree with the comment above about his teaching style. Yes he is very abstract but it is necessary for the material that he is teaching. Econ stats is abstract. He is always available outside of class. He does have this maddening way of asking you a question back everytime you ask him something. Learned a lot.

Great prof, one of the best at Bates! Explains stats in fun and understandable way. Upper level courses challenging, but is truly a very intelligent prof and passionate about econ and teaching. Goes above and beyond the text and helps you develop many skills besides just learning the subject.

Econ Stats Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: A

A wonderful man and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately his lectures are very abstract and his teaching accessibility is simply awful. If you like abstract stuff fine, if you understand via examples and applications then this course is not for you. I was frustrated often by the lack of clarity. Statistics can be thought in a much more interesting way
