"Tough Grader" "Papers? More like novels" "Tests are tough"

Dr. Tammen is kind of ill prepared the majority of the time. I feel like he has read his lectures so many times he doesn't prepare for them. Follow his directions on his papers to the T and you will be fine. Quizzes are sometimes out of nowhere so be prepared. I think I could have done just as well in his class if I just read the notes

He really knows what he's talking about. We did activities that demonstrated what we were learning in the course. I would suggest paying attention in class and reading the book, as it will help on the tests, even though he does tell you what to study.

He's a great teacher. He really knows what he's talking about. We did fun activities that demonstrated what we were learning. It was very hands on. I would advise paying attention in class and doing the reading for the tests, even though he tells you what to study.

Difficult to understand unless you took anatomy classes. I didn't cuz the class was for my minor, so I had to catch up with everyone else. Take notes, but the reading is whats on the tests.

He seems to know the material really well. He puts the majority of his lectures on blackboard. Doesn't just read off the power points, he adds interesting stories and stuff to it. Definitely need to read to pass the quizzes. Honestly, it is a lot of reading in the books plus extra stuff he posts on blackboard. The tests were take home essays.

He thinks he knows everything and when he doesn't then he just makes things up. Funny teacher with funny comments but don't get on his bad side or your ruined. He grades on if he likes you or not.

He was very clear in his lectures and was always approachable. He would always take time to help students out when they needed help. He was very down to earth and extremely knowledgable in the field of sports psychology.

Teacher is a JOKE doesn't know how to teach anything but sport psychology if that! Very touchy when you confront him on stuff about class. He is full of himself and bias in how he teaches and gives out grades. Tries to be friends with students but need to be more of a teacher and really TEACH!

Terrible teacher likes to hear himself talk, very bias in what he teaches. Topics he teaches on are not applicable to ESS majors. I would try to take the classes at a JC and transfer them in. Make you write to many papers for a science major that focuses on hands on type of applicability.

One of those self important guys.. likes to hear himself speak. Can't pick decent material to save his life. Easily side tracked, likes to interject his own puns and jokes.. which are mediocre at best.

this go is so stuck on himself. its clear that hes smart but what is terrible is that he acts like he is Gods gift to knowledge. if you do not play a sport you already have a mark against you. he clearly plays favorites and likes to think that he was actually athletic at one point. the fact that he is the head of ESS is a laughable offense.

Great prof. Lecture material is matter of factly, so be careful on the exams--they can throw you a curve ball if you're not prepared. Prof Tammen will always go the extra mile to help and explain material. Papers and abstracts are a piece of cake. Hardly no quizzes. Favorites to baseball and softball though.

Very helpful, always willing to explain and answer questions. Very informative when teaching, which explains why his tests can be extremely difficult. He tells you what you need to review for tests, so if you do that, you will be fine.
