She is extremely helpful and encourages students to stop by her office when you don't understand she responds to emails quickly and treats you as an equal. She is one of the best teachers I've taken at this school. She posts her slides online along with the answers to the quizes and exams for study reference You can submit lab papers for a regrade

If you want to go to medical school, you're better off taking Neilson who will teach you the ropes and you'll be well prepared. If you just need chem credit, then she's okay but she just reads off her slides...this is why there are so many questions on the discussion board. 95% science profs are accessible, but a few handful teach (excluding her)

Labs are long but it is a good class. Read the manual and go to class and you will do ok.

Very nice and accessible outside of class but very vague on what she wants for the lab answers. It's ridiculous on why I get points taken off. I answered questions just as the problems asked but she wanted to see more (that problem didn't ask or specify) and she didn't say anything in class on what "more" she wanted to see.

I really like the lab class, she really wants us to learn and understand the labs. TA's are really helpful and Dr. Richards is always available to help.

Very helpful prof. I'm not a lab person, so it was kind of tough and most of the TAs didn't speak good English but other than that you should get a B. Some of the labs are just busy work though.

You're better off taking Coffer or Neilson if you want to really understand tough concepts. This lady has favorites. Reading the lecture notes by verbatium is not teaching...anyone can do that. Easy professors doesn't mean you'll do well in the long run. She seems nice, but not always helpful.

She's a new professor at tcu. It was a difficult class, but if you study and pay attention you will do ok. I studied my ass off and did fine. If you go over the questions at the end of the chapter and old quizes before the tests you should do fine.

Dr. Richards was always available, either in office hours or on the discussion board. She also posted notes and exercises. It was very helpful. I think some students criticize because this class is hard. But Dr. Richards did a good job. My advice is to work the problems regularly.

Umm...the others who rated her don't know what they are saying! Granted Chemistry is tough- take a teacher who will explain it to you in a way you can grasp. Richards just regurgitates her notes on the board and you just copy!! Thats it! She's accesible though. But i say take Nielson or Coffer:)

Dr. Richards is a very fair and helpful professor. It is not often a professor is willing to e-mail and or meet with students to help clarify any question one may have. I think she's great!
