"Lectures are long" "Skip class? You won't pass." "Would take again"

there is A LOT of note taking in this class as the entire class is lecture, but dr. pougher makes it interesting. he is a very kind man and always willing to answer questions, he talks fast so you will need a voice recorder. not a hard class to pass if you listen and take good notes

"Tests are tough" "Skip class? You won't pass." "Get ready to read"

Mr Pougher has to be my favorite teacher so far at TCC. His laugh is contagious. He's passionate about history. He's a VERY fast talker so a recorder is a MUST. You have to have your textbook, show up every class, take notes, read. But you WILL pass his class if you work for it.

HIS 122 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: A

Mr. Pougher was an AWESOME teacher. Be prepared to get writer's cramp every single class, hours of reading the text book, and re-listening to recorded lectures... and you'll do just fine. There are 3 exams. 20 multiple choice questions, 5 short answer questions, and 1 essay. Just write your heart out, every single thing you remember and you'll pass

He is a very nice guy but not the easiest of Professors! He talks fast, be ready to take a book full of notes by the end if the semester. His tests are pretty hard, but he works with you on grades. If you're not a history lover I wouldn't recommend him. Very nice man with a love for history, but not easy by any means.

Dr. Pougher talks very fast,so I reccomend taking a computer to class if available. Ask questions, he's very helpful. His exams (3 exams)are hard, but if you do bad on the first one, he might overlook it if you do better on the next two. STUDY! You'll have an easy A book report. Overall a fun class, he's not intimidating or anything, he's fun.

Dr. Pougher is by far the best professor I've had. He is very funny and easy to talk to if you have a problem. It is a lecture course, so a lot of notes are necessary. His exams come from your notes and a little from the book. I never purchased my book and did just fine. You'll have 3 exams and one book report. I highly recommend him!

Dr. P was a cool teacher, i found his teaching methods hard at first, but i got used to it. Get used to writing pages of notes each class because that is essential to doing good on the test, i didnt find the book much use since his notes were more in depth. He is a very funny guy and very kind. Just take well notes and you will do fine.

Professor P. is an amazing wealth of knowledge, but be prepared to take extensive notes. If you take exceptional notes you can get away with not purchasing the book, but be prepared for 20+ pages per class. 3 tests, 1 research paper. 8 week crash course is intense! Pougher is the cream of the crop!

I had Dr. Pougher for the first and second U.S. History courses. Amazing teacher with a passion for history. You don't need the book, just listen well and take notes! About 4-6 pages for an hour long class and about 12-15 pages for his 3 hour classes. The tests are easy if you pay attention and study, lots of XC available on the test. Just listen!

Dr Pougher is probably one of the best professors I have had so far. You may have to work hard in his class, but he brings a true passion when he comes to teach each week. The only downside with this class was the curriculum itself, the class started out slow, but once you get to the revolutionary war it really picks up.

Fantastic professor. If you hate History he makes it really interesting. He makes puns in his lectures. Knows alot of military history and Native Americans. Take really, really good notes and you won't have to pick up the textbook. (All of his tests are based off his lecture). I averaged 5 pgs/per class. One of the better professors at TCC Va Beach

I this class you will take A LOT of notes. Be sure to pay attention when he talks. Bring a tape recorder just in case you miss something because everything he talks about is on the test.
