The class was very cool. There were many articles to read and a few video clips to augment the topics. Overall, the class was a joy because the professor is really concise and helpful and class participation was high.

This was the best class and the best professor I ever had in college!! I would love to take another class with him again. He is so wonderful!

Douglas is really great! He is very clear with the lectures and pretty much everything he says & writes on the board would be on the test. I really recommend taking him. Be aware that laptops and cellphones are not allowed though. Better to go everyday in his class because note taking is really precious if you want a good grade.

This man can teach very well! His lectures are clear and concise. He explains thing very thoroughly so you won't be confused. No textbook required, attendance not mandatory but highly recommended because everything he says will be exactly on the test. Helps a lot. 2 Tests, 1 Essay, 1 Final. I got an A and only studied for 1 hour before tests.

Douglas is the man. Super clear on his expectations, lectures don't feel like a year. Two 2000 word papers, two midterms. Class isn't mandatory, but you miss out on quality info by skipping. He's mellow.

He is so nice! He really explains his lectures to the fullest, and he tells it like a story so its super easy to understand and remember. There are a ton of articles to read, but I never read them and I still got 100% on a midterm and 98% on the other. It's really easy, just pay attention and you will breeze by! its very interesting too!!

Gah I miss this class! It was my first ever class I had in college. If I had the chance I would repeat that part of my first semester over again! One of my favorite classes ever!

he is a sweetheart! i loved his class! he has a way to keep you interested and involved throughout the course, a very fun class! you dont need a book since he posts the readings on beachboard and goes over them in the lectures. take him!!

Pretty interesting class! Douglas is a great teacher and really knows his stuff. He is actually really funny and makes the information interesting. His tests were some what difficult, but if you attend class and study you should be fine! I would for sure recommend him to anyone who is interesting in Anthro!

Prof. Douglas is an outstanding professor. You can tell he is passionate about what he teaches. His lectures are very repetitive, it helped me retain a lot of the information he talked about. I literally studied 20 mins before the exam and I still got an A in the class. He gives 20+ pts on extra credit on exams and even on the final! TAKE HIM!
