This class was awful. The professor seemed to know what he was talking about, but most of the time he just classed his eyes and rambled on and on and on. There really is no point in going to the classes at all. As long as you have the book, and have had at least some prior knowledge it wont be to hard. The class is 100% papers.

Professor Pino, though at times unorganized and unclear, is very knowledgeable about Latin American History, and the class format was rather lax. Be prepared to work for your grade and cite extensively throughout your papers. This is not an easy A, but it is definitely interesting and worth taking.

This professor is knowledgeable, but may insult you with his opinions.

A lot of people seem to hate him, but he's got a great depth of knowledge. He also led our class in weekly debates which had potential to get heated, but refused to butt in with his own opinion, which does him credit. To do well, just read (most) of what he says to read and pay attention in class. The rest is gravy.

He was a very insightful teacher and respected all points of view. I appreciated and valued his knowledge as a history teacher. He does a great job of bringing in outside material.

Whatever grade you get on the first quiz, is probably what you're going to get for the rest of the semester. No matter how many times you meet with him to go over your outlines or papers, he tells you one thing and means something else. I would not recommend taking this professor at all.

The Sixties from a Third world view. Great Class, Great discussions, He made odd comments at times, could be awkward, but generally funny. He meets with you before you turn in a paper to give you pointers. WANT LOTS OF EVIDENCE FROM THE BOOKS. LOTS. fun class.

Professor Pino is an outstanding teacher and has opened my eyes to the corporate raiders who have robbed future generations of everything Amerika has to give us as well as keeping the poor and diverse peoples in their place. We need more professor like him and I highly recommend him to all students who care about improving our society and future.

Professor Pino was a very good teacher. He was a standard blue book history teacher. The only thing that was a little bit of problem in his class is when we had to meet with him to go over our paper, and expected to review 80+ student's rough drafts---it didn't happen, but was helpful if you did get to him.

He was a very difficult teacher, but I learned so much from him. He made me work for my grade and made me think about what he said.

Horrible teacher. Extremely hard to understand at times. Horrible at keeping you posted about your grades and his grading technique is very confusing!

I give my teachers a lot of slack, but I have to say that Pino is truly godawful. Trivial lectures, poorly graded exams, and he tends to preach at times. I loathed his class beyond all rhyme and reason. Avoid him at all costs.
