He is a nice, knowledgeable professor, though he is boring at times. But 80% in his class is an A so I do recommend his class if you want to get a relatively easy A. He is pretty helpful too.

He's not a bad professor. I didn't detect a hint of racism. There is a lot to do in this class. At least 4 exams, a written midterm, thesis paper, and final, which is MC and written. Each test is 50 questions. Homework is helpful. An 80% is an A. Show up,take notes, and you'll be fine.

Difficult class due to large amount of time completing HW,so create a good study group.Must purchase inch thick very detailed instructions for the crazy paper.Ask lots of questions.His lectures are kinda dry but he's a nice guy and will explain but won't hold your hand. Got an A but it was a challenge.

I'm still in the class, and I really don't have anything volatile to say about this professor. His tests are not very difficult (I don't study, and I get B's), lectures are kind of boring (all Powerpoint), and class discussions are minimal. Haven't heard any racially-charged arguments from him yet, so meh.

He has written 3 popular books that deconstruct the history and motives of a minority group and because of his assessment on them and their motives, the group accuses him of racism. The class is good and easy as long as you read the slides and do homework. He is approachable and helpful.

Fantastic professor. Willing to speak the truth of racial realities in extracurricular conversation without introducing bias while teaching. It's a real shame that there are those who are so blinded by diversity that they hate those that wish to help them and better our society.

This guy is great. A true American. I have no idea what people are talking about with racism I really recommend this professor he's a great man.

Put aside the issues of his racism and look at the big picture. Taking this class expect: 4 m/c tests - from 3 chapts; you have approx 125-150 quest to answer for per chapt and one is powerpoint. No study guide and no idea what you will be tested on. 2 essays "study guide" consist of 6 quest that are really 19 or more questions. Food for thought..

Class is not difficult if you pay attention, take notes, and study well for the exams (essay style). Homework helps grasp material. Dr. MacDonald is very approachable and will spend time with you at office hours to help clarify assignments and expectations. If you like the class topic and apply yourself you will do fine.

I liked him for child psych. An 80 is an A, it's not tough to get. His essay exam wasn't as hard as I had heard, I got 100%. The homework is extensive but it helps you ace his tests. He knows his stuff. I'd take him again.

This professor is extremely monotone and unclear about what is expected on the exams. All he does is read his powerpoints word for word during every lecture. Read the textbook and hope for the best because he sure wasn't much help when I took the course!

I took child psychology with this professor. he is a nice guy but should not be teaching basically he just reads the power point word for word. I never sleep in class but this professor would snooze half the class. I highly do not recommend taking his class. Also the tests are pretty difficult, and he does not really tell you whats on the tests...

This class was very interesting and he tried to make it as clear as possible..his grading is reasonable, and his homework is a little lengthy but it's nothing outrageous. If I had to take him again I wouldn't mind..learned a lot in his class

His class is fairly easy and he's pretty laid back. Just do the homework he assigns and you'll do fine.
