Class is dull mainly because the lack of statistics gives the proff little material to lecture on. No podcasts, attendance not req. Rambles a lot. AP stats really prepped me for this course, so it was my flaky class. If you haven't had stats will be a lot of pointless memorization. Conceptual questions on MTs. Boring. I<3stats D:take psych instead

Funny prof, uses nice ppts for lectures, talks mostly theoretical though. Go to sections (not mandatory) to learn actual hands on problems. 2 midterms, 1 final, you get one side cheat sheet for each midterm, full sheet for final. Book didn't really help, just do practice problems from TAs. 5 Pop quizzes in lecture, but very easy, just review notes!

Nuñez is a great professor, interesting and all, but material was boring. Pop quizzes (which are simple) make you go to lectures, but lectures are helpful since he (over)explains the concepts. 2 mterms and final, fairly cover material, cheat sheets allowed. Good sense of humor. Not being from US seldom shows in tests with vague language. Good prof.

He recycles questions from previous exams. You learn more from the textbook, but he's not a boring lecturer. He does like to ramble. Sections(not mandatory) are helpful. Cheat sheets and a generous curve. Hands out EASY pop-quizzes during lecture. He postponed a midterm until after Sun God which gives him a bonus.

Pop-quizzes make you go to class. Teacher is often hard to understand. He explains simple concepts with way too much complexity. Not very approachable, as he makes you feel stupid for not understanding his explanation. Very tough grader, with TAs who are also tough and not very approachable. I'm a COGS major and I will avoid his classes.

this class was brutal. no direction at all as to what to know and how to study. he says his test questions are "general" but its actually detailed. his tests say "briefly explain" and you get docked off for not enough info. TAs were useless. Despite all this, he is quite friendly outside the classroom.

He is not the professor that I would recommend for COGS 101C. The prof takes easily understandable ideas into something complex and confusing. He doesn't really seem kind in repeating things over for clarification.

Exams are different, but doable. The class is tough, but there are so many compensations for that (cheat sheets, massive curves) so there's really no excuse for failing. There was no textbook req. but I found that I needed to use one anyway.

This class is reqd so it's pretty boring, but he really does make it as fun as he can. He's always traveling and so random people give lectures and that keeps it interesting. The worst part is he lets the kids ask a million picky questions. when we were talking about categories the class went crazy for an how about how the ex. wasn't prototypical

One of the worst profs I've had. He just babbles on without anyone actually able to follow him. Moves way too slow with easy stuff and way too fast with hard material. Hardly any examples. TA was great and very helpful, so go to section to learn the material!

Tests are harder than what you learn in lecture. Prof seems nice and funny at first, but ultimately does not care about his undergrads. Not terribly hard though.

A lot of people don't do well on the midterms and end up dropping for a few reasons. Discussions and homework are NOT mandatory so people don't go or do them. If you go to discussion and do the homeworks, this should be a decent class. Discussions usually consist of at most 5 people as most people don't go. It's VERY beneficial to those that attend

Class is a series of lectures by different speakers, and if you are good at remembering things after hearing them just once, this one's for you. Test questions are somewhat obscure and nit-picky but a good cram session with the study guide is very helpful. As far as I can tell, A's are very rare in this class.

Go to all the sections if you can. It really helps. DON'T READ THE BOOKS!

He can't explain anything. His tests are horrific. At least he doesn't do most of the lectures. Wait for someone else to run the class.

although this class is a separate lecture from all different cogsci professors, nunez made the tests HORRIBLE. I had heard cogs1 was easy, but this class was impossible. i had to change to p/np right after the midterm and it is a miracle i passed that final, i think i knew 5 of the answers. extremely difficult. do not take

Very nice and knows his stuff. Jokes a lot in class and keeps things light and funny. This was the downside also though as his tests were much harder than he made the material seem in class. Make sure you're well prepared for midterms and final.

Easy and fun.. lots of anecdotes and jokes. Very down to earth. Has an easy-to-understand accent. He makes the most boring subjects interesting and pretty comprehensible!
