HONESTLY, I HAVE TO SAY THAT THE CLASS WAS NOT HARD BUT DO NOT REALLY EXPECT HER TO REACH FOR YOU AND HELP YOU. SHE REALLY STRESSES DOING YOUR HOMEWORK AND PRACTICING ALL THE PROBLEMS FROM THE BOOK. MAJORITY OF HER TEST STRAIGHT FROM HOMEWORK AND BOOK(WHICH THINGS WE HAVE ALREADY DONE). ANYONE CAN PASS THIS CLASS; ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS THINK!!

Ms.Torres was not the best professor she really does not give students a chance i wish she would offer extra credit that would help some students a lot. What i really don't like about her is the attitude she can be very rude. I came out from this class very disappointed. Don't ever want to take it again. She's also a hard grader.

I took Philosophy during the Summer,and was so thankful to have Torres-Bower as my professor.She is enthusiastic,and is always willing to give further information and clarity of the concepts studied.During the fall, she was kind enough to let me borrow a couple of books for an English paper.I am very thankful for kindness and for trusting me.

I love Mrs. Torres-Bower! She is not only a very enthusiastic professor but she is knowledgeable in philosophy. She brings energy to all her seminars and really is trying to do what she can for the best interest of the class. She is a passionate teacher that is very patient and one who hopes for the best for all her students.

She is very nice and energetic. I did't know anything about philosophy and logic but she helped me understand. She even let the class retake the exam since it was still a little confusing, but after that the whole class got a better grade.

Mrs. Torres-Bower was a very nice teacher; although, she did have her moments when she got impatient with the students.Overall, she was a super nice lady. Lecture-wise, she was great, but she struggled in giving proper directions for the homework assignments which was usually a weekly thing.Pretty easy though, passed with an A. : )

Such a great class! Philosophy can be tough, but she is passionate about the material & makes it understandable to students. If you need extra help, go to her office hours. Your grade can improve. Has cool shoes too ;)

This Prof. is not clear or organized. She does things on the fly which is very frustrating at times. Her explanations are not very clear, and examples are not good. One thing I will say is that she can be accommodating and wants her students to do well. She's just not a GREAT communicator or organized which would help greatly in Philosophy.

i loved this class she was very easy going just dont use your cell phone in class duh! and essays were great you got to put your own thoughts into it. she was very helpfull wants her students to do good

Dr. Torres-Bower is the most pro-student professor ive ever met! she expects much from students only because she knows they have the potential and ability to do it-those who think otherwise are just not up for the intellectual challenge. she'll make time to help students understand the material and progress in all areas of academic life!

i love this class.. i love doing essays since i get to write what i think about social issues and cultural diversity.. if you hate essays and don't have crap on opinions nor give a damn about social issues & understand different culture you will get an F.. this is not a vocab by definition.. she grades ur critical thinking ..duh

I'm not going to lie, this class was horrible!!! I'm a philosophy major and was definetely looking foward to this class... it was horrible!!! She's not clear, she rambles on to pointless subjects... Over 3/4 of the class dropped... She's on sabbatical, but when she comes back... please avoid her... she needs to retire!!

The most misunderstood teacher in Cerritos college. A very nice person. The material is very useful. Once you get the concept, I assure you that you dun have to study for the exam.... Most important it to understand. Of course i m talking about 106. I do not know about others....

All tests are take home, which is nice, but they are not easy. Sometimes she will allow you to redo assignments to get a better grade. If you visit her in office hours, she will do her best to help you. Just make sure you keep your own tally of your grades and compare them to what she has at the end of the semester.

Great professor, but expects her students to be dedicated. Do all homework and ask questions. If you do not understand the assignment then visit her during office hours and she will give you helpful examples. Also, she allows you to retake tests/writing assignments for a better grade. I learned a lot from her class.
