Perhaps the most brilliant professor at CSI. Be sure to always bring the text you are working on to class. He covers so much in his lectures, it is worth bringing a tape recorder to class (unless you happen to posess an eidetic memory). Too few professors have such high expectations of thier students.

He is brilliant. The work is not hard, its do-able if his class is the only class you are taking. He assigns too much reading for even part time students, let alone full time students. He acts as if you aren't taking any other classes. Take him only if you are NOT taking any other classes.

Awesome professor, but you have to concentrate and write quickly. Those of us who did became quite knowledgable about The Iliad and The Aeneid. He is on a year-long hiatus right now (beginning Sept. '07).

Blanford Parker is brilliant. His class is always interesting. Perhaps it is boring if you don't share his zealousness and love for language and literature and just want the answers for the tests. I truly enjoy discussions with him and I admire him as a gentleman, a scholar, and the genius that he is.

Parker is the most brilliant professor I've ever come in contact with. If you care about learnng and aren;t intimidated by the being taught at a GRADUATE LEVEL, then take him. Take notes. You will be lucky to simply share the air he breathes.

i have heard that he is really smart which he may very well be but- i have him for a 4 hour class once a week and its crazy!. the class is extremely boring. its hard to get notes from his lectures because he never really finishes his sentences. if he is you only hope do not take him for a once a week class. i have heard that his classes were better

terrible professor. never available for office hours. offers nothing productive in class. goes off topic quite often. does not offer out of class help at all. gives no breaks during a 4 hour class. takes forever to answer emails. very rude and abrupt outside of class. no denying he's intelligent but he should help his students.

this is the seconds time i took him...hes a laid back lecturer who may possibly be the most brilliant person i have ever encountered. he's very understanding and loves his lit...wanna take a guy who can recite over 1500 poems off the top of his head he's your man...just remember there will always be a 10 page final paper

Excellent professor. All of these comments and more positive ones describe him. He's a nice, witty guy. He does not take crap from idiots and loves his lit. Great professor -- he ALMOST made me change my major.

A gentleman and a scholar in every sense of the word. Good to debate and discuss any topic, literary or otherwise. Take him if at all possible.

Quite simply one of the best professors there is! Brilliant, kind, understanding, a good listener, and a great lecturer. If one wants to learn, this is the professor to have!

He has all the qualities one could want in a professor: extremely bright, very funny, interesting and kind. No, I did not have a crush on him, but it would be easy to see why someone would. He seems to have it all.

Professor Parker can be overwhelming at first but if you love literature, you will understand and appreciate his "close-minded" attitude. I was so touched by Professor Parker that I changed my major after his modes of poetry class- and have steadily remained in Literature ever since.

he was the best professor i had. he is a very generous grader. he even passed me and i'm not the best student.

Professor Parker is the best Professor I've had so far. I signed up for his class twice, knowing that he's not closed-minded. You can talk about anything that happens to come up in class. And his tests are easy as long as you've read something. Even the cliff/sparknotes alone can help you out.
