STA2023 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: A

This teacher really wants his students to pass. He curves the exams, dropes the lowest score and he gives extra credits. He gives homework for each chapter, but being that they are worth 50% of the grade it's like taking exams at home and if you have questions he is there to help in addition to that the learning commons is helpful for H/W questions.

STA2023 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: A+

If you attend class regularly and do your homework this is not a hard class. He does go a little fast but he will stop and help you if you have any questions. 50% of the grade is homework and he curves test grades. The book is definitely needed as well as mystatlab.

STA2023 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

LOTS and lots of homework, which counts for more than the tests do (and he grades more harshly). Talks really, really quickly in class and can get distracted. Very friendly and helpful. Has trouble explaining concepts clearly sometimes, but not a terrible teacher. If you aren't good at keeping up with homework, though, then TAKE A DIFFERENT CLASS.

STA 2122 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Do not take his class if you do not have ANY prior knowledge of stats. Copeland is a good guy. He just cannot teach the material. He goes through stuff very fast and you will be stuck if you do not have that prior knowledge. I survived with a C. YOU WILL LIVE IN THE LEARNING COMMONS!!!

He knows Statistics, but he is absolutely horrible at teaching it. He also has no patience what so ever and got annoyed when we asked questions. No idea why hes a professor. I got an A in the class, but I was teaching myself. 40% is homework grades, so be prepared to do the homework. Youll have to in order to pass.

If hes the only one to choose from, don't freak out, hes not that bad but he wouldn't have been my first choice. He is very willing to help. He is not very good with explaining things so you will be teaching yourself most of the material. His grading is fair and gives many chances to earn to a successful grade.

STA2023 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

He's extremely difficult to understand in class. Attendance isn't' mandatory. Homework is everything!!! 40% of your grade. There's 3 tests and a final but he drops the lowest test score and if you end up with an A average you're exempt from the final! I recommend him cause he's an easy grader, but i suggest a lot of time in the learning commons!

So overall I say he is a pretty good teacher. Sometimes he is pretty inconsistent with the lectures and it is kinda easy to zone out but if you read some before attending class and just pay attention than everything becomes much more clear. He is always willing to help and the tests don't have anything on them that we haven't covered in class.
