Had for Decade in American Culture the 1920's fall 09. Talks pretty fast. Read books-exams are on them.Very hard grader, only her viewpoint matters so dont expect to bring up your grade with papers. Attendance Mandatory.grade will be dropped if you miss more than 2 classes.boring class-somewhat fair-can get a B very hard to get A. 2 papers 2 exams.

horrible class,she is extremely boring and a harsh grader.if you do bad she will tell you to focus on other classes and just fail hers. lectures are boring and she cannot teach for life.she is also always in a bad mood and hates "young generations". will often refer to you as "you people". gives you whats on exams but makes papers 60% of your grade
Utopia
Probably the best class I've taken at Rutgers so far. It was a once a week class (which usually means doom), but it was highly entertaining and it was a lot of class discussion, which she facillitated very well. We had a lot of readings, but they were all very interesting. Fair grader, wonderful teacher. Take her class!

professor duus is excellent. she's very intelligent and very open to the discussion in class. she's also extremely helpful... definitely worth taking.
Vietnam
The class is pretty easy, you have a couple papers and then a test. Kids used to leave halfway through the class before the movie. I used to sleep through the movies. Overall, if you need an easy class without much work, take it... Vietnam itself is pretty interesting!

Someone should tell Prof. Duus that the war and protesting ended 30 years ago. She would stand up in front and preach to us for an hour, and then we would watch ridiculous films that did not realistically portray Vietnam. If you want to take this class to find the truth, do not take it with Duus.

she is sooooooo boring. the lectures are horrible.if you do decide to take the class take it for the movies. other wise avoid it.
