PHYS225W Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

He is a great guy, who tries to help a lot. The subject is just hard though. I do think that some of the homework was ridiculous, but that also has to do with how hard you work. This class is not going to be fun, but Haglund is a good bet for it.

PHYS116B Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Professor Haglund is really difficult. His teaching style doesn't really lend itself well to notes, and he isn't terribly clear during lecture. If you go to him during office hours or email him, he's really helpful, but he wants students to understand the broader theory behind a concept while testing on proficiency with calculation. Homework is dif

PHYS116B Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Completely useless. The homework he assigns is much harder than it needs to be, because he wants to "push your knowledge to the limit." Do not take him if you can help it.

PHYS116B Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Hardest class I've had so far; however, Professor Haglund is very willing to assist you in office hours and review sessions if you ask for them. His teaching style didn't work that well for me (very theory-oriented) but he always asked for input on what he could improve upon. He will set the class average to 80 (C+/B-) in the end.

PHYS116B Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

He teaches this class as if we had been doing physics since birth, which makes it difficult to actually comprehend some of the naturally complex stuff he's teaching by just attending lectures. He curves the grades decently, but be prepared to spend a lot of time outside of class teaching the material to yourself if you want an A.

In a class of 42 he gave out 12 C's, 7 D's, and 2 F's. Do your best to avoid his section.

wow, that was def. one of the toughest science courses i have ever taken...He will help you any way he can, is an incredibly nice man, and absolutely loves physics..but i guess because of that, the tests are REALLY tough (always last 2-3 hours). hopefully he curves, but take Umar if you can, he is alot easier (we were 7 chapters ahead of his class)

Such a nice man, but the class is so so so hard. Be prepared to study forever and still not do well. Haglund is always willing to talk with you, but if often unavailable in person (out of the country) Since you probably have to take this class, and aren't doing it for fun, Haglund is the best option
