I really recommend Professor Kupchan. He really knows his material and is able to lead discussion well. Intelligent and dry, but basically friendly. He speaks very precisely and clear speaking = clear thinking.

Good survey of grand strategy, focusing on one case study every week or two. Kupchan is brilliant and very entertaining; I could listen to him talk for hours. You can expect about a book a week and a 30 pg. term paper. Definite recommend.

Fun professor - acerbic, dry, funny as hell! Very organized and knows his stuff. There are some days it can drag, but they're few. The sarcasm and his sense of humor just made this class! I learned a lot as well.

Great teacher! His lectures were always very interesting. Class does tend to fly by (most of the time). Leaves time at the end for questions which is good because it cuts down on the lectures. He knows everything! So smart, but is not too serious, he likes to crack some jokes here and there. Def take the class with him.

lectures were great, the 75 minutes flew by. brilliant guy. kind of a big shot who shows up late and bolts when class ends, but it's cool to hear his take on current events. pay attention in lectures and you'll be ok. flamingly liberal too.

Although brilliant when it comes to IR/polysci, he's not a great teacher and comes off as someone who would rather be anywhere else than in the classroom with students. Offers zero feedback on papers. Lets discussions always go off on tangents.

Very good lecturer, interesting class, leaves time for questions and discussion even in a large lecture. Not that available, but there are TAs who are helpful. Lots of reading, but it isn't as important as the lectures. I would definitely recommend his class.

Very clear lectures. Brilliant man. You will never fall asleep in his class. Interesting material. TONS OF READING. One paper which is interesting to do. Midterm and Final. Final was hard, so don't slack off and do the reading. Overall, if you want to learn, take him. He's awesome.

He appeared more bored with our graduate course than we were. Stared off into space during student discussions. Grades pretty fairly, but was so busy with own research/recently published book's promotion that he was very unavailable.

Good guy. Lectures can be a little boring, but it's a good class. He's liberal, and makes no attempt to hide it, but I think he tries to present the material as straightforward as possible. Also brings in very cool speakers.
