McCourt was a pretty good guy! He comes off as cocky and as if he has a problem with Christianity. However, the class isn't hard. Just write a lot on the essays and the midterm. The group project is easy if you just do it. I don't care for him much as a lecturer though.
His class is very unorganized. he knows his stuff but spends most of the class picking at the students instead of teaching. Quizzes ar very easy and straight forward.. Only pain is group project. Overall, not a good teacher for the class!
Excellent teacher, really knows what he's talking about. Class consists of a few essays which actually are pretty insightful and make you think. Not an easy A but a very useful class if you plan on doing anything with religions in the future. Attendance is taken almost daily, quizzes are given almost weekly, great teacher & funny.
Prof. is funny, but this class is unorganized. I'm not some bad student writing a review out of bitterness... I have an A in the class right now. Syllabus changes and there seems to be no logic to it(at least a logic that students can understand)...papers suddenly count for more, exams are changed, "weekly quiz's" some times happen/ sometimes dont
He's a funny guy to listen to...but it gets old after a while. His lectures are not really teaching, they're more like "guess what I'm going to say next" or fill in the blank. example:McCourt says " Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, was ....?YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO FILL IN THIS BLANK.After about 20 times in 20 minutes it gets old. Every lecture is this.
