TENG 270 Taken for Credit:Yes Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A
"Assignments galore" "Get ready to read" "Lectures are long"

The class is painfully boring unless you have an innate interest in Medieval literature and the way making books has evolved over the centuries. She doesn't seem to care about grades, rather, the class is mainly a discussion about her interests and the homework, which can exceed forty pages and is due by next class (which is at times in two days.)

The class was not really that hard, but the reading and writing was a little excessive. That is to be expected for an upper level class though I suppose. I had to submit a second brand new 5 page paper though because of an email error on her behalf. She was not very helpful at all. Unless you love the Middle Ages, I would not recommend this class.

I guess I just had a bad experience with this professor, or maybe it was because it was on online course, but she didn't seem helpful at all. She only seemed to like comments that agreed with hers, and seemed to have a way of ending something on her own terms. The assignments were also very unclear, but again, this could be because it was online.

Helene was extremely helpful in helping me to launch my honors thesis. She had a unique ability to urge my progress without taking an overly imperative stance.

treats grads and undergrads a little different - actually harder on undergrads. not sure what the clarity complaints are about. I think that's more a reflection of 210 being an inherently unclear (and lame) course but I have my bias too, I guess. was very clear to me. very open and helpful as well.

Very sweet, motivating and interesting teacher. I never would have thought that middle english would prove intellectually stimulating but she made it an enjoyable class. Always approachable and friendly.

is sometimes difficult to understand in regards to assignments and tests. Very long complicated projects. Doesn't give enough timeto complete assignments. She cuts you a third of a grade if one day late. Be very careful with this one.

Lit Middle Ages Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

The reading was extensive and some of it was very boring. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Eric & Enide and Dante's Inferno were interesting though. We had a fun medieval banquet, which was cool. The class is difficult, but it was upper level English.

Scheck does not believe in letters issued by disabled office for students who need more lenience in absences and time for assignments. She's "nice" to the students which is decieving. She deducts for lateness regardless of letters. Her assignments are very complicated and long. Clarity on assignments is lacking. unfair with grading if doesn't like y

Chaucer Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Makes class really interesting because she goes into depth about certain things and she seems to know a lot about them. She does have quite a few writing intensive projects but if you can get past that then the class is pretty cool.

Professor Scheck is a great professor for Chaucer! She is a little flighty which can both add and detract, from the class. She is very knowledgable about Renaissance subjects and very animated about them. Her projects are somewhat extensive but interesting.

Very flighty. Goes off on stoner tangents. But definetly knows a lot about certain things. Not much work but when there is a project it's usually huge.

ENG210 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Very vague about assignments, but SO easy to approach and very helpful. Not many assignments to be done, but a lot of work for each assignments. She gets you to think critically and work hard. All majors are required to take ENG210 (Literary Theory) and she's the best prof. to take it with.
