Haberman is very passionate about religion and it's great hearing him lecture. Just be sure to sit near the front of the room because he's hard to hear from the back.

I am in a small class of eight religious studies majors dealing with religious eroticism. The class is thought provoking, and he is a very intelligent man. His teaching style seems to put heavy emphasis on students taking philosophical stands regarding the material. While I enjoy his lectures, they are not of a nature conducive to my note taking.

This lectures are very... poetic. So a bit of advice, go to the discussion section. That's where I learned the most, in lecture you get vocab, but he often goes off on tangents. He doesn't put much emphasis on reading the textbook but I would suggest that too. It explains the who, what, when, and why of each religion very well.

Really passionate teacher. Cares about what he's talking about. Kind of poetic in lectures. Not very clear though on what you actually need to know for tests. Go to discussion section.

he obviously knows a lot about the subjects, but makes it very difficult to understand if you don't already know enough about it. his lectures aren't very well organized and made it hard to take notes. the book was much easier to understand than his lectures so this helped me for tests.

An okay class, but after half an hour, it makes me fall asleep. He also assigns us readings that he doesn't "agree" with, and only his opinions matter. He will constantly ask for comments, then tell you in a roundabout way that you're opinions are wrong.

Great and passionate guy. Interesting class; really makes you think. Easy if you go to class but have to be somewhat knowledgeable on subject matter. Really sexy too.

An amazing professor who clearly has an unlimited amount of knowledge on the subject matter. A little over my head at times, but never less interesting.
