It is a right of passage to take Powers for Writing for Media Professionals. No, it's a "re-write of passage." You will work hard, re-write, become frustrated and moved to tears. However, you will learn how to write tight, clear, concise copy. Two thumbs up from this student!

Awesome prof. He knows how to explain, and he cares that his students keep-up. Strict grader- don't expect any sympathy.

Powers is a marvelous professor. He is not only very intelligent, but also he takes an active interest in his students. Don't take his class to boost your GPA, but take it to learn how to write well.

Powers appears to be hateful, unfriendly and overall a horrendous person. By the end of the semester you come to realize the value of his teaching. He teaches real writing and I have learned so much in his class. If you have the chance, take it! (He only teaches in the Fall).
