Noel is a funny, energetic, compassionate professor who clearly loves her subject and wants her students to as well. The class is difficult and draining, but if you take it with Noel, she will make it better. She gives extremely helpful feedback and really wants you to succeed, unlike many of the other professors. Take ACE with her.

Noel is a wonderful professor. If you have her in the morning, be prepared for a wake up call. (And comments about coffee and Red Bull) Noel is quirky, funny, and definitely high-energy. She also provides wonderful feedback on almost all assignments. She is a fair grader, but be warned that Writing the Essay gives you a full workload.

Love her so much! She's an amazing teacher - so engaging and funny. She makes an otherwise uninteresting subject really interesting and dynamic. If you take ACE or WTE - choose Noel!

Incredibly engaging and exciting teacher. A tough grader and expects a lot but will work with students closely. Even strong writers will be challenged and improve from the class. Essays are never fun, but her classes always are. I absolutely love Noel, but be warned: she comes off as very intense and abrasive but you'll learn to love her as well.

Noel is a great teacher. She keeps everyone awake with her quirky humor and is very understanding and knows what she's doing. Best writing professor I have ever had. I highly recommend. She is willing to help in any way that she can!

Noel is fantastic and knows how to cultivate creativity. Even though the class and workload are-as rumored-intense, Noel makes WTE engaging and high-energy. She is an expert when it comes time to review essays, but be prepared for rewriting, rewriting, rewriting. This class is not for anyone who can't handle a little (okay, a lot) of quirkiness.

Noel is great! I highly recommend her course. She's really a lot of fun and has become a decent friend of mine thus far. She's very kind and very approachable and quite intelligent. She's helped me become a better writer to a degree, but I wasn't expecting terribly much. I didn't think she was a hard grader.

If you have to take Writing The Essay, you might as well take it with this goddess of essay-writing. It won't be easy, and it won't be a GPA-booster, but you'll come out able to write. a. goddarned. essay. The classes are zany and fun -- but make sure you're able to deal with a brash and loopy personality before you sign up.

Noel is crazy, excited, funny and enthusiastic. It is relatively impossible to fall asleep during her class. There is ALOT of work and she is a tough grader, but she is the best out of all of the writing the essay teachers and advanced college essay classes.

Noel is a goddess. She knows her stuff so well and really attempts to engage even the most uninterested student while still pushing the passionate students to achieve more. This class was hardest for me because she questions the way you think and forces you to grow both as a writer but also as a student of life. I'm in love with Noel.

Noel is one of the best teaches/professors I have ever had. Ever. (Maybe the best). I loved writing to begin with and I love it even more. She a talented and trying educator and an excellent introduction to NYU. In order to do well in this class you really have to try and I loved it.

I'm an English major and I got an A- in the class! She's tough, but in a really really good way. I improved so much as a writer thanks to her, and she's the most considerate person you'll ever meet. Tell her what you're feeling, anything, even that you hate her. She'll respect you for the criticism. Work hard at being coherent yet complex. Gorgeous

She is crazy, in a good way, but it kind of takes away from her teaching. She is a hard grader, and won't tolerate slackers.

Noel is a very good teacher, extremely smart and gives great feedback. However shes also a tough grader and she will not take anyone's BS. Kooky, crazy and entirely lovable. You won't love the subject, but you'll definitely come to respect her brilliance.

Writing the essay sucks, so you might as well take it with Noel. She makes class interesting, gives you as much feedback as possible, and is a really, Really good teacher for this class. You're still going to hate WTE, but you won't want to stab yourself in the throat everytime you have to get up for class. Gives you something to look at too...

Noel is one of the smartest people I know. She is unbelievably dedicated to her craft. Her mind works in mysterious and beautiful ways to help you think, think, think. I could not have been happier to have her as one of the first professors I had at NYU. She really is the best.

I had her for advanced college essay in stern and i can say that i fell in love w/ writing during her class. She can tell where your logic is trying to go and helps you get there in your papers so that you end up surprising yourself when you're done...i spent way too much time on this class. the class forces you to think creatively, which is great.
