12/10/09 HIST46 2 4 4 4 emoticon smiley flag   Bogac is an authority on the Ottoman Empire. The class may be on Middle East history but is focused highly on the Ottomans. He is full of knowledge. The class is hard and there is a lot to know and understand but it is worth it if you want to really get a feel for Middle East history.

11/20/09 hst195 2 5 5 3 emoticon smiley flag   Great class, great prof. Ergene is very involved in his subject matter and definitely cares about his students. I learned so much about islamic history in this class. Definitely recommend this class.
9/22/09 hst45 2 5 5 3 emoticon smiley flag   45 is not an easy class. But Prof Ergene was effective. He tends to be demanding of students but I did not mind this. Bigger issue for me was how crowded the class was. 125 or more students? He tried to pace around the class room to establish contact with more students but class size did not allow much involvement in discussions etc.
