She is a horrible teacher. She doesn't grade anything until the end of the semester so don't expect to have an idea of how you're doing until you come out either passing or failing. Her online final is ridiculous. "Two long essays" and you have no idea what they will be about to be prepared to memorize the entire book. Avoid her at all costs.

Not a horrible Professor, she just makes it so much harder than it needs to be. She focuses a lot more on your writing skills than on the subject itself and she was not good at responding in timely manners either. Definitely not a good teacher to take for a basic US History course, at least online.

Dr. Hagedorn is a one of a kind teacher, she is all over the place in class but she is extremely helpful. As long as you show the effort she will ensure you do well in class. Her class readings are the most important she wants to know you understand the material and the text is just to guide, she loves it if you do outside research!

History is history not English or literature. If you want to write a lot of papers only for her to grade them at the end of the semester (so you will never know your grade, its just a surprise at the end of the semester) and tells you she didnt like your writing style be my guest. Be careful with the final too.

I consider this class and classes I have taken with her to be absolutely amazing. As a history major myself I find her knowledge and willingness to be perfect. Take her class in person it is the only way you can truly appreciate her teaching style. She is willing to work with any and all students including ones that aren't in her class.

She's decent. If you take really good notes, read everything you should, and don't procrastinate, you'll do fine. The textbook won't be discussed within the class. There were no tests, only three essays. The final is entirely from the textbook!

I took her on campus $ shes admitted she isnt a good teacher to take online but for lecture she's great! She really loves teaching & will help students she'll even help you edit you papers before there due. Wrote 3 papers and the final was two essay questions. That's all the work, very easy. I never did any of the required reading and still got a B

Will never, ever, ever take another class she teaches! I love history, but not the way she teaches. Saw her madness then liberated myself from her mentality of foolishness!

"LH" as she writes in email is NOT a good Online instructor. She has a syllabus to follow but contradicts herselfs in what is due for the assignments. The three books on TCC Bookstore, we only used 2 of them. The assgmnts require your thoughts & opinions but they are never up to par. DO NOT TAKE CLASS FROM HER! Wish I would have read reviews..

This class requires ALOT of work, too much. She goes by the syllabus but is not clear about her assignments. Im taking online so that makes it worse. Every grade you get is never 100/100 its always below average no matter how much work you do. Dont take this class.

OMG!! This class felt like 3 classed in one. There was sooooo much reading. It felt like my life rotated around this class. You would think the test would be based off the main purpose of the chapter but she would pick little small details. So much reading. I was so glad when I was told this class was not a requirement and I could withdraw. WHEW!!!

This professor is very rude, or at least comes off that way online. I should have read other's scathing reviews of her online class before I signed up for it. The quizzes are very hard and ask obscure questions, unrelated to the overall chapter. She expects more essays than my ENG Comp class. Do yourself a favor and don't take this class!!

This course was very challenging. If your looking for a typical online course to breeze through, this won't be the one. Some advice for the quizzes is to look for the finer print details in the chapters and don't focus on the general knowledge of history. History buffs may find this fun, if your a slacker DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE!

Dr. Hagedorn is very knowledgeable of U.S. History. However, I cannot recommend taking her online U.S. History II class. It requires a LARGE amount of reading and extensive writing for a 100 level course. Perhaps she is a great professor in person engaging the class in thought-provoking discussions; however, online teaching is not her forte.

idk what kind of masters programs are being referred to here, but I think that's ridiculous. sure, she wants you to think... that's her job. if you want a class that gives you an A just for showing up, then maybe you should find someone else... if you want to LEARN and think critically, she's awesome. TCC is lucky to have her quality.

Excellent professor with a passion for and command of the material that is not often found on the community college level. Uses socratic method and values critical thought in all assignments. One of the best professors I have ever had.

Her online American history class is brutal!! You should read the chapters immediately before the quiz each week. Take extensive notes with page numbers when you read the chapters. The quizzes are hard. There are tons of extra reading and writing assignments. She is very unresponsive. This class will take up most of your time. Find someone else!!!!

LEAH HAGEDORN IS BRILLIANT. SHE PREFERS AN IN CLASS MODE OF INSTRUCTION, SO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANY OF HER ONLINE COURSES BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT EXPERIENCE AND APPRECIATE THE INTELLECTUAL CONVERSATIONS THAT TAKE PLACE. THE CLASS IS DIFFICULT, AND THOSE OF YOU WHO APPRECIATE REAL INTELLIGENCE WILL GROW TO LOVE AND UNDERSTAND HER METHODS OF TEACHING.
