HIST 272 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Professor John is highly knowledgeable and understanding. His class requires attendance otherwise you will get lost. It also requires many readings, but all of them were interesting. There were no busy work assignments. I really appreciated that all films and literature were selectively chosen because it really supplemented the lessons.

Hist 271 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: B

He is an okay professor. He definitely knows what he is talking about, is always happy to help, many movies and quizzes(lets you know in time). However, he does jump all over and makes the topics quite boring sometimes. Textbooks will be used constantly. Overall, good class for 200 level.

LABR609 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

This was a grad course, so he loaded the textbook reading on thick. Maybe a bit much. He's very passionate about the subject matter. He talks about people and movements rather than conquests and dates. I highly recommend him for a history class. He will make you work and you will come out of his class much wiser than before.

he is really passionate about history. we listened to A LOT OF SONGS AND WATCHED A LOT OF DOCUMENTARIES. he gives VERY EASY quizzes (2) and small writing assignment on an index card (2). his research paper is optional. this class is easy. pay attention. he likes students who talk. but if you don't blabber, that's okay too. got an A+ and didn't even

Very passionate about the subject matter. He enjoys tying in the lessons with pop-culture of the day and age he is teaching about, which is awesome. You see a films and listen to music of the time. He doesn't feed you the malarkey that you get in middle/high school. It's very real history and very unbiased teaching of said history.

This guy knows what he is talking about. He is so passionate about his subject and really "opened my eyes" in this class. That can be the downside, too - if you aren't motivated and don't do the readings. The class is sssooo easy. Expecting an A.

Hunter College students seem to appreciate this teacher, but I profess myself not a fan. I never have a clue what is going on in class, and it doesn't help that he seems to jump all over the place. Professor John is also vague and slightly annoying.

He is a great professor. I made the mistake of being lazy my first semester and I still did well. He is very passionate about history and he is not boring. I hate history in general but he made me very interested in it. Easy (W) class! He also cares a lot about students rights. He is a definite must take professor!

if you do not have any interest in history, then do not take his class. he is over-passionate and expects you to feel the same. Also, he assigns ALOT of reading. i made the mistake of not reading prior to every class and ended up being very behind as he doesn't always mention things in class, but he expects you to know it anyway. overall he was OK.

Had Fall 2008. I like this professor. He's intelligent, his lectures are interesting and he is good at explaining somewhat difficult to understand ideas. He always gave study guides for the exams. Every possible essay question that could be on the exam was on the study guide and would tell you how many essay choices you would have on the exam.

He clearly explains the events that happened and why and gives dialectical explanations for American Revolution and development of North and South. I learned a lot. Very interesting class.

Excellent professor. I love the fact that I always feel so challenged in this course. He really pushes the concepts and analyzes history in depth. You learn a lot in his courses. And in terms of grading, he is very fair. He is very passionate and inspiring.

Without a doubt, the easiest class I've ever taken at Hunter. It's a writing intensive course, but we never had a paper. Not only that, but he's brilliant and he has a refreshing perspective on things. You learn a lot from him. DEFINITELY take him!

Taking Sandor John's course was like picking cotton without Eli Witney's cotton gin. Too tedious, too boring, too hard at times. Midterm was FILL IN THE BLANK, so the non-History buffs either failed or all got C's. Brown-nosers got A's. He's passionate BUT he yelled at my friend for liking Gone With The Wind bc it's pro-south. wow its a film. chill

Great professor. Gives pop quiz-like little writings in class, so it catches you a little off guard, but is generous with his grading. Not an easy class, but he tries hard and does a good job. Sometimes yells the answers when no one answers and it's funny. Treats all students in a respectful manner.
