easily one of the worst teachers ive ever had. he is a not so nice person and doesnt give students a fair advantage. He cheats them out of there money.

Dr. Swarts does a very good job lecturing. He is clear and gives good examples. Other than that he is very errogant when asked questions and a VERY hard grader. Wouldn't recommend

Before taking the class with Dr. Swart, I was told to drop out the course by some of my friends. But I have found Dr. Swart's class very helpful especially for someone who has profound interest in Chemistry. He gives very good notes. I still take references from his note. I have taken Chem because of him. I want to be a professor like him he rocks

Swart is a great teacher. The set up of the class is really good, and you learn a lot. The only problem is that the tests are NOT on what you learned. Unless you already know everything about chemistry, it will be really hard for you to do well in this class. he doesn't give any tests back in class, and he grades labs like a terrorist. Don't take.

never seen a professor like him. Don't know how to teach Chemistry. Never give any guideline about lab. As a result, most people fail in the lab. Exams do not cover the material he cover in the class. 60% of the class dropped out.If someone want to fail in Chemistry, then take class with Swart.

Dr. Swart is not nearly as bad as I was expecting. He is clear and uses lots of easy to understand to examples. He can come off arrogant, but he is far from a horrible professor.

Horrible teacher. Just stands in lecture and spews out chemistry without caring if you understand. Also answers your questions like you should already know it, doesnt have any people skills. Would NOT reccomend taking him unless you have three years of chem under your belt

He is a kind guy and fun, but he doesn't explain what you need to do in tests and especially in labs. If you don't have enough time to visit him before you turn in something like reports, you might be depressed on your grade. He also doesn't grade lab reports until the almost end of semester. It might hurt you lab grades, too.

He should not be a professor. First thing he would tell you-"You don't have knowledge of chemistry at all" if you were confused with lab work and ask him to explain it. Lectures are fine but lab reports makes u fail or get a 'D'..Even though you work very hard u can end up getting a worst grade!!

Swart's a really nice guy, he's always willing to help during office hours although this class is really tough. The ten people around me were retaking the course for a 2nd time which isn't that unusual. Classes based on in class assignments, h.w., tests & lab. Recommend taking it w a different professor, good luck

First chemistry course at college(I'm a Chemistry major), and overall he is good at explaining things-even with some humor sometimes.Maybe our personalities are just different, but I got the feeling that he just wanted to get through the material and not be a mentor(he was my advisor, but I changed to another advisor.)Overall, good but not awesome.

The class is difficult. This is true. But Prof. Swart, that I've seen, is not as arrogant as some people say. He does give great notes, and so far as I've seen, everything he's given (in conjunction with a willingness to work on your own and pass--as college pretty much demands) is a really helpful in understanding such a difficult subject.

This guy was without a doubt the worst professor I ever had. In my opinion he was harassing as an instructor in lab and actually had the balls to tell me that it wasn't the lab instructor's job to help students in lab. In my opinion he exhibited extremely unprofessional and unethical behavior. Forced me to drop. Avoid this guy like the plague!

Chem is hard. I found that Swart was pretty arrogant, but if you went out of your way to ask him questions outside of class, he kind of gains a liking for you. He tends to put tricky problems on the homework that you need his help on if you want to get them right. However, the homework problems don't always resemble the tests, which aren't awful.

Dr. Swart is a horrible teacher. He is extremely unhelpful and a is very snobbish if you ask him a question in his office. He'll put questions on the test that are what you learn the following week! He doesn't explain things very well or show good thorough examples in class. There is nothing good about this professor, be warned!!!!

Great teaching style, however doesn't write his own tests and the tests are very demanding.

Chem is hard.I hate chem.But this professor is the best professor in teaching.Amazing style of teaching.Although doesnt know anyone in class but explains the best.You wont even need to ask any question as his explanations r so good.Gives good notes.Wish I would have him as my prof throughout.His grading system is hard though but not too much.
