EASY A!!! Studied one day before midterm and final and got an A in the class. If you have music experience this class is a breeze!

I've never taken any music class before but did play guitar (can't read music). EASY ass class. I but the least amount of work I could in this class (was taking two upper div. Engineering classes) and still got an A. Just pay attention during lecture, do the homeworks and you WILL get an A. No study required. Lamprey is awesome.

If you have musical experience (band, piano etc) this class will be REALLY easy. If you dont, its okay, she basically spoon feeds you the material, and theres a ton of practice. The only bad thing is its 8am and attendance is mandatory. other than that, prof Lamprey is really nice, and wants everyone to succeed in learning music.

This class was great and interesting. super easy A if you know how to play the piano or know basic music concepts. Make sure you go to class and understand everything she teaches in class because tests are straight forward. the TA is really helpful too. Attendance is mandatory. You do not need to buy the book

lamprey teaches pretty well, and her exams are straightforward. if you know music, it's an easy A. if you don't know music it may be a little tough, but not all that difficult if you actually study. you do not even need to buy the book since her exams are straight from her notes. she gets made when people don't show up so shell add some pop quizzes

This class was pretty cool. Like, it's easy if you're a musician. I'm a musicain myself and I learned a lot. She made me realize how hard music is tho but She does an OUTSTANDING job of explaining Music theory. It sucks class is so early. The class is okkk. I didn't use the bk but if u dk music i recommend it. 1 mterm, conert report, final, proj.

A background in music will make this class alot easier. Although there is still alot of memorization and effort required. Go to class, besides the fact that she takes attendance, you need to get the notes. If you take good notes, you won't need to purchase the book.

If you are familiar with musical concepts, use to be in band, or have some prior understanding of musical theory, this class will be very easy. But if you are totally new to music, it takes some effort but it is still easy, because the concepts are very easy to learn. Attend class, 'specially toward the 2nd half of the course, and u'll be fine!

the material is a little more than what I expected. The second half of the course was somewhat challenging, need to memorize. Going to lecture is very helpful. TA is very into music, but ok. The goal for the final project is unclear that u don't really know how hard you should work for it while ppl just play "twinkle star" and pass it. Got an A :]

I thought this class would be very easy, but it is not. Theres a lot of stuff you need to know in this class in such a short amount of time. The teacher is alrigght, but if you have no prior music experience, it wil be very challenging. Above all else, the ta, adam is just horrible. He gives out tough hw to do every week and doesn't go over it.

If u dont have any music experience, this course'll be challenging. If u have some sense of musical concept, it wont be 2 difficult. But there r a lot of assignments such as weekly hw, 2 concert reports, and scale sheet. Adam was the TA and he's just a nerd. He acts as he's cool, but way he laughs will annoy you. No music experience, dont take it.

I had a horrible time in this class. Lamprey was rude when people asked questions, and her TA, Adam, tried his best to make each assignment as tricky as possible. I still got an A, but unless you absolutely have to take this class, stay far away. This is a challenging topic if you're not familiar with it, and they did a terrible job of teaching it.

I play the piano, so this class was super easy, but even if you have 0 expereince, if you go to lecture and discussion and pay attention, this class should be easy for you too. Both Prof. Lamprey and David (TA) genuinely care that you get an A, & they are more than happy to answer any qyestions.

Although I had no music experience, I still liked the class. It's not so hard as you think. Just make sure that learning music is like learning a language.

I went into this class with some musical experience, but no real formal instruction. She covers all the basics to get you proficient in music, and she has a sincere concern and inclination for getting students to learn the material. Would love to have her as a teacher again.

Lamprey does her best to teach music to students. If you had previous music experience, this class should be an A. If not, it takes some effort to get an A.
