I would have to agree with the December 4th comment below. Waldstreicher simply lectures to the class that was often incoherent in understanding what point he was trying to make. Further, he did not look at us or ask for student participation, he simply lecture and made little eye contact.

DO NOT take this professor! He is extremely scatterbrained and cannot speak a cohesive thought. Thought I could handle it but I would have failed if it wasn't for my TA being so helpful/an easy grader. This prof is a smart guy...just super hard to follow!

He is the greatest professor. The nicest man. Incredibly smart. He takes an interest in his students which is a rarity at Temple. If you have an interest in American history absolutely take one of his classes.

Brilliant professor. Extremely knowledgeable about U.S. history and puts a really interesting perspective that you don't get in high school on things. Having a professor who clearly loves the subject and knows so much about was great. If you're interested in history, I highly recommend.

The content of the class was pretty interesting, but all he does is lecture, which sucks for anyone that cant sit through it. Overall, a pretty good professor though.

very smart guy. class consists almost entirely of lectures with a very general outline on the overhead (which is incomprehensible without the explanation in the lecture), so you have to pay attention and take notes if you expect to understand what hes talking about. there is a lot of reading. i always felt rushed when taking his quizzes.

i didnt like him because he says "uh" way too much during his lectures. if he actually talked during the time he spent saying "uh," classes would end on time. weekly quizes were annoying and the TA i had was on a power trip

Very great credentials and very enthusiastic with subject matter. He does have a lecture style of teaching, but if you are good at taking notes there shouldn't be a lot of problems. Quizzes are fairly easy if you pay attention in class. It was an honor to be in his class.

The guy's a genius but he's a lecturer. His quizzes were very easy if you listened and were good at picking out main points, but if you struggle with what's important you may have a rough time. Very writing intensive. Lectures can be boring if you're not motivated to learn about this kind of history. However, his credentials are fantastic.

Talks forever. Never really makes a point on specializing in one main topic for discussion. He is all over the place. He is the type of pofessor who would talk for 30 minutes about a subject and then not have it on a test, but something he devoted 20 seconds to would be an essay
