Sandberg has been my favorite professor so far. She's very clear about what she wants from you and her lectures are usually funny and interesting. Her sarcasm is awesome. You must read to do well and the tests are tough, but definitely worth taking general psych with her.

"Get ready to read" "Tough Grader" "Tests are tough"

I thought this class would be a kinda easy A if you just read the textbook and studied for tests, but her tests were next to impossible. I studied so hard and felt like I really understood the material, but never did too well on tests. Luckily, homework is worth 25% of your grade and an easy portfolio project is worth a lot too. Entertaining class.

"Clear grading criteria" "Tests are tough"

Class is pretty clear-cut. HW is a huge part of the grade, so make sure to complete it because it was a grade-saver. Interesting class. Tests are very difficult though- many questions are badly worded and have several possible answers. If you do well on the HW and portfolio, and complete the extra credit- you can get a good grade.

"Tests are tough" "Get ready to read"

Tests are kind of hard, but take good notes, highlight key things in the book, and review lecture slides, and you should do pretty well. Sandberg's lectures are pretty interesting, even if a significant amount of time is spent fighting with the microphone or watching videos. A great introduction to psych and would def take again.

"Get ready to read" "Assignments galore" "Lectures are long"

Attendance is not taken so you don't need to go to lecture as long as you keep up with reading. Some class material will be on tests, but she posts the in class slides. She spends half the time fighting with the microphone or having the class watch videos during lecture. Also, tests are tricky but she provides plenty of padding for your grade.

"Big time extra credit" "Assignments galore" "Tests are tough"

Good lecturer. The class is huge, but Sandberg makes a point to spur class participation with handouts and clicker questionssurveys. Tests are MC and pretty hard, but she lets you buffer your grade with a lot of easy homework assignments and research credits. You don't have to go to class, but she does a lot of extra credit.

"Tests are tough" "Get ready to read"

Lectures are useless, she posts slides online. Reading the textbook is a must and a decent amount of time will be spent on homework. She does offer some extra credit and a project to balance out your grade, but tests are EXTREMELY difficult and unnecessarily so. They cover a lot of material and have vague questions with no clear cut "right" answer.

This is a great class. Her expectations are very clear, and as long as you do the readings, the homework and quizzes are easy.

MHS 250 Taken for Credit: N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

This class on autism was very interesting for someone who knew nothing about ASD. That said, Sandberg knows her stuff yet the class is more of a survey than real nitty-gritty material. It's a pretty easy A, and the work load is some of my lowest at Vandy. I wish Sandberg had lectured more but instead there is a lot of fruitless group discussion.

Dr. Sandberg is very witty and easy going. Liked listening to her lectures, although she often goes on rants or tangents that are interesting, but not relevant. Tests are very difficult, so just skim the textbook every night with online homework and you'll be fine. More work than anticipated, but enjoyable class. Made me wanna major in Psych

Dr. Sandberg, in a sense, ruined my interest in psychology. A seemingly easy course of study (intro psych) was made difficult by her impossibly worded test questions (each multiple choice with 5 options). I recommend studying from the text/website because her class lectures are painful and she always fails to properly operate the projector.

Dr. Sandberg kept the class interesting. Often times we would watch movies and videos in class. Sometimes I felt as if the class period was pointless though because the tests were textbook based. There is a good bit of work on psych portal every night. Also, the tests cover A LOT of information, so start studying like a week in advance.

Dr. Sandberg is witty and articulate. Class is not mandatory, but you should go because the lectures include material that will be on the tests, and she shows clips of videos that are quite interesting. To prepare for the tests, practice the Learning Curve tests that are online-- they are key to getting an A.

Sandberg is an interesting woman...she is whiny and somewhat harsh and unapproachable. Despite this, the lectures are interesting (lots of graphics and cool videos) and she keeps it light and funny for the most part. The homework is pretty mandatory, and is kind of busy work. Tests are WAY harder than the class itself, beware! Keep up w/ reading.

Easy to do well if you actively do the homework. Lectures aren't mandatory but sometimes extra credit is offered. Also, there are questions on tests about in-class activities.

Lectures are useless, and consist of her making bad jokes and showing videos. Fine to skip often. Material comes entirely from textbook/online homework, and is pretty simple, but tests are hard. Expect grade to be a full letter grade higher than test average because of grade booster assignments. Definitely can get an A, but have to put in some work

Extremely easy. Learned a decent amount but she went off on tangents all the time. Very funny professor and understanding. I would recommend it if you want an easy A
