Tests were overly specific and terminology rarely matched the book. HW was easy. Read HEAVILY to do well on the tests. Plan AT LEAST 4 hours per chapter. No curve either. Take crazy notes, study your royal rastafarian naynays off... or take it from someone else. He's cool though!

Dr Busath was amazing! I loved going to lecture because he made everything so clear and explained if there were any questions. He was funny too which made class even more enjoyable. I didn't go to any TA reviews till the very end but just reviewing his lectures and some knowledge from the labs helped me do great on exams. TAKE IT FROM HIM!

I came into the class with low expectations for this professor, but it turns out that I have been pleasantly surprised with how well Dr. Busath teaches. The class average for both of his tests were above an 80%. Lab was the hardest part of anatomy in my opinion but that is like a whole separate class you take apart from lecture.

Dr. Busath was a really fun teacher. He is a little nerdy and emphasizes on the molecular side of anatomy, but his tests are very clear and straightforward, just long and hard. But if you study the slides, you will do fine.

Obviously his lectures were never as interesting as Tomco's - nobody's are - but Dr. Busath was overall a good professor. Sometimes he went off on tangents that were beyond the scope of the course, but his tests were pretty easy and always fair based on what he taught. Study the lecture guide!! He won't entertain you but he will teach you well.

Do not take any class from him. Especially Adv. Phys. He's very bad at teaching the concepts, he's hard to understand and he has very hard tests. It requires way too much work. If at all take from another professor, seriously don't say it's the only time he can't be that bad... he can.

Take this class from someone else. He really knows his stuff, but doesn't teach it very well. This difficult class was made even more mundane hearing him ramble on each class. There was a lot of busy work but it was worth little to no points. He grades almost strictly by tests. Class was made even harder than it should be.

Take advanced physiology from another professor. Dr. Busath is very intelligent and an excellent researcher, but he is not meant to teach. His lectures are convoluted and his tests focus on extremely specific details that are not truly pertinent to the course. I feel like I learned a lot, but I wish I had taken it from another professor.

Don't ignore 220 comments. He makes an effort to clearly teach what he knows. He is an MD and knows the stuff clinically but maybe not as well as Tomco (she's amazing). I did not regret taking it from Busath, just not being with Tomco. tests made use of the lecture guide, I studied that exclusively for the test and passed each with a 97 or higher.

Ignore any ratings from PDBio 220. He considers that an entry-level class. We think he wanted to have a graduate level discussion in 362. Anatomy is a must, & you should have at least one of neuroanatomy, pathophysiology, or a comparable class that will prep you for insane tests and graduate level lectures, or you will loathe this class.

Dr. Busath means well. He's just hard to learn from. He allows you to ask questions and tries to get the point across, but it seems like he studies the stuff the night before and doesn't know a whole lot about it otherwise. It's just hard to learn from him.

I never had a problem understanding what he taught, but other students didn't always like him that much as a teacher. He wants to help students and tries to make the class challenging while helping all the students do well.

Dr. Busath is a very smart guy, but gets way off topic. He gives in depth details beyond the scope of the class. I thought the final was easy, but I studied ALOT. This class requires a lot of time and effort to succeed. Nice guy though.

highly recommend the class. Don't highly recommend this teacher. Tomco is awesome, get her. But warning: this class is hard and takes a lot of time. but it gets easier once you get used to it. definitely one of the most informative and valuable classes I've taken

Okay professor. Kinda Dry. I never had her but everyone says Tomco is way better. Plus she designs the class test... Take it from her if possible

I think this was the worst class I have had at BYU. The professor never really taught clearly and his tests were way out there. He has no curve and no sympathy. He is just very unclear as a professor teaching something that he has an MD in.

Dr. Busath is a really really nice man. He never embarrases students in class like some of the other anatomy teachers (seegmmiller calls on random people in class to answer questions). I thought it was easier to read the textbook then to understand his lectures but he tried hard.

Dr. Busath tries very hard to be as helpful and approachable as a professor teaching a rigorous premed class can be. He is extremely intelligent. My favorite lecture was when he forgot his power point and just taught from memory. Tests are very hard but fair, he throws out the unreasonable questions. I truly enjoyed his class.

Do ALL you can to avoid Busath's class! If possible, take it from Tomco! After the first test, I went to Tomco's lectures, even though I wasn't in her class, and learned SO much more in 1 class than I had in 2 months with Busath. He is confusing, and honestly, I don't think he knew what he was talking about most of the time, he just made stuff up.
