Mok is awesome. He's looking out for your success even AFTER you graduate. He's the kind of prof that cares more about what's important in the real/professional world vs the tedious busy work of academia. If you're not proficient with computers you may struggle, otherwise you will do fine and learn a lot.

Great teacher. If you think Sharepoint is unnecessary then you need to research careers. Dr. Mok teaches what you need to know. Take him, it will help you in your career. Listen, do the homework and study for the tests. 10 assignments, 1 MT and 1 Final. Open book.

Class is kind of boring but Mok is a pretty easy. He's a decent teacher especially compared to some of the other IS profs. Don't worry about taking his class if you have any modern experience with computers. If you're still in the DOS age then yeah you may have problems

Mok's actually a cool guy and has some dry programming humor("your code now dead!") It's important to come to class and do the work but it's not a hard A. Have a good attitude, ask for help and work with others and you'll have absolutely no problem. You may struggle if you're unfamiliar with computers(at all) or basic programming.

On exams he asks for a combination you may haven't worked with. He reviewed a part of our final (he usually doesn't) which helped, but only had one successful example of Excel, which was not in the book and the link's example wouldn't run correctly. It didn't seem like it would be a problem until I had to try and code it during my final.

I didn't have any problems with him. Study for his exams, they are the majority of the class grade.

Dr. Mok is a great professor. I can't give him high marks for clarity since he has a thick accent but as long as you come to class, pay attention to his lectures, and follow him doing examples you will get an A. Gives in-class assignments and grades them in class. He is always willing to help if you ask. Exteremely easy class. Highly recommend.

I never post ratings on here, but I had to this time. The people giving him bad ratings are ridiculous. He classes are extremely easy and not once have I ever seen him be rude to anyone. Just like an earlier person said, the only people who struggle are people who don't know how to use a computer.

VB is dumb, but you will learn how to program fairly well in this class. He is not very clear, but you should be able to figure out every assignment. Do not be afraid to ask for extensions or for help.

Does not respond to emails an he does not like helping students. Well excuse me but that is your job. I agree that UAH needs to get rid of him. Dr. Li or Dr. Horton would do a much better job teaching this course. And obviously the student ratings at the end of the term mean nothing as him, gamble, and allen would of been dismissed ages ago.

Anybody that's taken a C or C++ class before should have zero trouble here. The syntax is different, of course, but the same principles apply. Those complaining here are those that have trouble turning a computer on. He's not always the most clear, but if you have any inkling of programming knowledge, this class is a breeze with this professor.

Advise to attend consistently. I didn?t have a single problem, although I have a proficiency for programming-he was very helpful when I struggled, uses a cheap book that?s used for 210/310, finished all but 3 assignments in class (you have a week, otherwise), and tests were challenging, but not overly so. He?s also very flexible w/my crisis.

Well, it's hard. That's really all I can say. I did get an A, but ONLY because the girl sitting next to me knew what she was doing and helped me throughout the semester. Many people have a problem with him, me, well I'm undecided.

this class would have been a lot harder if i hadn't already had a similar class prior. the teacher liked me, but didn't seem very nice or helpful to others. definitely come to class even if it doesn't seem to help and do all the homework and any extra credit, because the exams are pretty tough.

I had a A+ average in his class before the exam. I worked my ass off to get that grade by doing the extra credit problems and nights of studying. Then he goes and gives us a extremely hard exam where we got like 2 hrs to do it and when time was up people still werent finish. His exam dropped me down to a C. Are you &%%$ kidding me?

Good teacher. Homework assignments increase in difficulty throughout semester. Has given extra credit assignment and parts to assignments, which has been great. Somewhat challenging material. Kind of rude to others when they've asked questions re: how to do homework problems, probably when he thinks they're stupid questions. He's been nice to me!

Excellent professor, he stays on task and is to the point. He is available during office hours to help when I have a question about homework, he is very fair. I've learned a lot from this professor.

He is a very kind-hearted man. Will let you makeup assignments IF you email him telling him you will be absent. His lectures are kinda hard to understand. Sometimes you have to teach yourself from the book. Tests consist of 3 computer problems on Visual Basic. Can be a little tricky.
