Attendace is mandatory, clickers used, bonus points for right answers. Very clear and helpful.

Garcia was adorable with his accent and when he gets flustered. He is extremely approachable and eager to help anyone who asks. Overall his class is doable if you actually watch all the lectures and ask questions

Found Garcia to be a really useless professor. He generally just restated things we had learnt online verbatim and offered very few explanations to harder homework questions. I didn't feel that he prepared us well for exams or homework. Also, his organisation was pretty bad. Nice guy but go for Reid instead.

He is a flawless professor. I know not of a better teacher more interested in the success of his students. The class is hard, yes, but you would be hard pressed to come out of this class not having learned anything useful. Not to mention that he is also a genius, taking on CERN.

Does absolutely nothing to encourage someone who isn't interested in physics to be interested in physics. His lectures have no structure or continuity and frequently contain mistakes that he'll admit to at the end of the class. If I had a background in physics or had tons of time to devote to the class that I would have done better.

he is a good teacher, humorous and patient. But there are so many things to do for the PHYS121 class, like the pre, in, post lab, pre lecture, pre test and webassign. webassign questions are some how little bit hard and Garcia uses clickers in his class.

Garcia is really nice, but his lectures are all over the board.. literally. He goes off making up his own problems from chalk board to chalk board all class, and his tests are nothing like what you study for homework. He doesn't follow the book at all except for general content. He has a thick accent and confuses crucial words like in/on top

He sticks to the schedule well. Physics has always seemed hard to me before, but the class isn't super hard (I do nearly all the odd chapter problems). Tests are okay - I do much better on FR (fairly easy!) than MC. Averages have been low so far but I think some people are just having a hard time, with some of the questions in class...

He doesn't use powerpoints or any means of organizing his lectures. Constantly goes on tangents and does everything on blackboard with some random clicker questions worked in. He works through problems without explaining what or why he is doing anything, and makes mistakes every single day that the students correct. He is smart, but cannot teach.

The man is always seeking to help his students even outside of class. He's pretty charismatic and knows his stuff. Although it might not be obvious, the professor isn't hard, rather, physics is hard. Do as many book problems as you can, and stay up to date on everything that is going on in class.

Such an amazing person and truly does care about his students. He wants you to understand the material and if you go and talk to him in office hours he will go great lengths to help you succeed. He is funny in class and keeps things interesting. I love Garcia!!!

Garcia is a great professor. He explains concepts very well (but puts no emphasis on maths). There is always a lot of HW but he is willing to provide help and would answer your emails promptly. He's also an extremely friendly person. I highly recommend his classes.

It seems like Prof Garcia had the best intentions at heart, but it just didn't come through to the class. The tests at the beginning were a lot different than the homework, and it seemed he didn't really understand where our troubles were on certain problems. The textbook is your best friend!

He comes to class without any plan of what he is going to say. He doesn't follow the book at all (never know what section he is talking about). You have to read the textbook thoroughly to do well in his class.

He is amazing. Here are some quotes: "there are no forces at all! i mean... the net force is zero!" and "the system is rotating like my fingers tell me" he is so beautiful and its easier to be above average on his tests
