If you're taking piano 1 with him and can't read music TAKE IT WITH ANOTHER PROFESSOR. He doesn't teach u how to read music he expects you to already know what you're doing. He's mean and makes mean jokes towards students. If he feels you're not putting in 110% to piano playing he will treat u like crap. God forbid you're late or miss a class...

Very helpful when you don't understand something. He is a very kind hearted sweet man who loves to play the piano and has no problem expressing it. He is very easy and not a difficult class.

I have taken classes with him every semester, and he is one of my favorite professors. People say he is hard, but he really is a nice guy. If you participate and try you can do well.

He is strict with attendance. Is a master at playing Jazz piano. Is somewhat difficult to communicate with, but learning from him is worth it!

he isnt nice at all. he is very rude and up tight. Make sure you are at his class on time everyday or he will single you out and make you feel worthless!

This guy is an amazing teacher as well as musician. The class is a breeze if you do the hw and practice. I'd definitely recommend this man for any of his classes :)

He is an amazing teacher to me. I had a passion to learn piano, starting from scratch at 20 years old, and started off by taking his class. I give him a great deal of credit for the progress I made while under his tutelage. He is very passionate about music and what he does. Thank you, Yan.
