A passionate and driven teacher. His "clarity" may come across as lacking passion, but if you spend any time with him at all, he is all about passion. He teaches by experience, so soak in the stories. A great teacher.

Dr. Genevro is a very passionate musician and very interested in the well being of his students. Though very busy and sometimes unorganized he is a great teacher and you will learn a lot from him. Take advantage.

At first he was great, but then I realized that he focuses on the techicalities to the point of losing artistry, and has been giving non music majors the short end of the stick

Is interested in impressing people not actually interested in making music. If he could record a good cd without using the band, he would in a heartbeat. He, along with most of the department, is most concerned with making the department look good, and if you are already there, you are thrown on the back burner. You are simply a means to his end

He is really great, very funny, and he is very helpful even to non-majors. In private lessons as in Symponic winds, he demands a lot, but will help you every step of the way

He's a little on the hardcore side, and he has this bad habit of taking his students for granted. If you're the only one of your instrument in the college who has any talent, he will expect you to play for everything and not cut you any slack. Seriously, in order to miss an ensemble, you'd better be dying.

Emphasis is on technical music to impress audiences. Rarely any discussion about phrasing or making music. If you need to be excused for a job interview, an audition, a master class, etc., forget it. Very rigid. More interested in impressing others with recordings than in training us to be good musicians and teachers.

Great band director. Verry helpful and kind and funny. He expects you to be a musician and do your part but he is gracious to non majors and encourages them to participate. Nice guy and down to earth.
