"Tests are tough"

Not a bad online class. Prof Van Dommelen has a pretty good online presence, but is quite hard to talk to in person. There's obviously a lot of administration involved in such a large online class, and some errors were made on that end of things - most of the time dealt with appropriately, but a few times not so much. Tests and Exams are hard.

The marking for this course is ridiculous. The 'lab' questions are tough because of the marking. Each answer you give is given a response of "yes, but?" and marks are docked for not being a mind reader. Exams are not bad if you study and prof. does try to answer questions, well gives hints at least....

Not helpful. Whenever I asked for clarification her response was "Refer to the textbook". TA was just as bad. Very frustrating!

Was helpful but far from understanding and accomodating. Comes across extremely cold. Do not take this course by distance. In class is probably much better. Although in all truths, she marks well.

Can come across cold but this seems unintentional - don't be intimidated! She's extremely competent and does a great job of explaining and introducing content on the boards. A bonus is that she posts about web articles and local events that students may be interested in.

Jennifer seems great. These courses are by distance and you have to learn everything yourself, she does not actually lecture. She is quite helpful. BTW...I thought these classes are quite difficult, its intro biol for gods sake!

She is an awesome professor! I love this class-the only reason anyone would fail this class is if you don't complete the assignments or the quizzes. All you have to do is complete the work. The labs are all online interactive so you can do them again & again. Highly recommended!!:)
