HIST 1075 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Took the class "early modern europe." It was probably too difficult for a freshman core class but honestly he was a great professor and one of the most brilliant men I have ever met. Definitely worth taking the class but don't expect an easy A, or really an A at all.

Fabulous teacher. Tells history like it's a story. He is a veryyyyyyyyyyy very hard grader. Great teacher though. Don't know if I could handle taking him again because he is very difficult. Not a lot of hw, just supposed to read. Gives 2 papers (7 pg. minimums) a midterm and a final. He's a little cutie too with his Irish accent.

Hist 1075 3412 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Difficult classes but worth the challenge if you like history. He grades papers pretty hard but he'll make you a better writer/historian and he's very willing to look at papers prior to handing them in. On top of that he's a great lecturer, funny, intelligent, and really nice. Reading AND notes are a must for an -A. I will be taking him again.

I had him for The Tudors and aside from it being an already very interesting class Professor Maginn made it into a very fun, humorous hour and fifteen minutes.

HIST1075 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

Honestly one of the worst choices I made by taking this class. Maginn is a great teacher but way to harsh when it comes to grading, especially for a freshmen core class. He only cares about the midterm, final and essays as part of your grade. I learned a lot but like I said, too demanding for a freshmen class.

HIST3458 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

By far the best professor I had at Fordham. Took him for Ireland 1688-1923 and I have never learned so much in a single course. His no nonsense teaching style encourages thoughtful questions instead of the BS which pervaded my other history courses. The reading is everything, if you want to excel and people say he is a harsh grader, but he is fair.

HIST1100 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Maginn makes history enthralling even for those who consider irrelevant. His teaching approach is unique and captivating, treating students like adults rather than students. This allows for some flexibility in a class that requires it, as he is always open to discussion in order to improve his clarity. It does not need much improving though...

Great professor. Papers are long and a lot of work, but he was excellent at explaining the material. His passion for Irish history was obvious and made the lectures SO enjoyable. Take him!!!

Hist110 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Besides the fact that he's extremely gorgeous with the cutest accent, he is one of the most fascinating teachers at fordham. he is able to turn the long dragging history of the french revolutions, empires, kings, and the like into one great story! Amazing teacher! If you have a chance at taking him, do!
