Excellent Prof. Jeff is extremely knowledgeable in his field. You have to do the work for this class; reading all materials, and class attendance is crucial. Jeff's class can be a bit daunting for the shy/quiet (such as myself), as participation forms 25% of your final grade, and regular input is expected. However, this class is worth the effort!

This seminar was my favourite this semester. Lots of readings and work, but you learn so much about a part of the world you probably know next to nothing about. He is a very clear prof with reasonable expectations, great connections, and a wonderful sense of how to conduct seminars. You won't be disappointed... so long as you put the work in!

I liked his style of teaching. He acts like a Chairman in a meeting, he'll start off the converstation and he'll fill in the blanks when needed but mainly we students are doing the talking. Mainly I learned in that class through the readings and in class conversations. If you want a lecture course Jeff Sahadeo isn't for you.

He is brilliant- quiet and calm, but very caring. He knows his stuff no doubt. as for the first guy abou the economics, who cares about economics? Take an economics course then, not the intro course.

HE is REALLY BORING. Mumbles, unsure, is competent only in Uzbek studies. In Economics-0 He has to learn more...

He is a great professor, very intesting, genuinely interested in his students. Great at starting and leading discussions, and has great theories and ideas. Lots of reading and work to do, but worthwhile if you are interested in Russia and historical theory.

Sahadeo knows his history. He presents a lot of historical information through which one can understand the theories and conceptions which appear in the readings. There are a lot of readings, the vast majority of which are entertaining and present information uncommon in popular culture.

Best prof I've had at Carleton. Class was demanding in terms of participation/keeping up with readings, and though I certainly didn't get out of it what I could have, it was still fantastic. Two very enthusiastic thumbs-up.
