HIST2100
He is really hard to understand when he speaks. However, He is a very kind and helpful person, and is more than happy to talk to you after class. The curriculum is a little weird, but he gives four unannounced quizzes in class that are just extra credit. He is a great person in general, but not a comprehensible professor.
hist2100
He is a little difficult to understand but his tests are not that hard and the paper is easy. He gives four quizzes in class that are extra credit only! Very nice guy and is willing to help you!
HIST2100
He's impossibly hard to understand! Even sitting in the front row doesn't help :( He gives study guides for the test... That's all I used to study. Entire grade consists of 2 exams and a term paper. Both exams were over 9 chapters or more. Had to take this class for my major, too bad he's the only prof that teaches it! Passed with a B though :)
HIST2100
I feel like if the TA taught this class I would have been much more clear on the course material. The professor does not go by the book, nor does he include any powerpoints or visuals to help his students. I find myself trying to teach myself in this class, and it is clear he is very knowledgeable, but I don't think he is made for teaching.
HIST3882
Great teacher one of the most kind persons on earth. have had him for HIST 2100, 3882 SLave Trade, and HIST 3384 West Africa. Will give you an A if you just try to read and ask him questions. 2 tests consisting of 2 essays and 25 terms and 3 paper on whatever topic you want....EASY. You must be challenged if you find any of his courses hard.
HIST2100
Absolutely the worst class I have ever taken. There is no point in going to his classes but you are required to he is an African attendance tyrant. His accent is stupid and hard to get through and his lectures are vague and don't delve into the readings at all really he also doesn't us any visual aid making it seriously a painful class. Finally he mumbles worse than any other person I have heard. It is extremely ironic that someone from Africa that barley speaks English is teaching american hist
HIST2100
I think that he really enjoys the subject which is so sad because you can't really understand what he's trying to teach you. I agree that he's very easy to tune out so maybe don't bring things to class that will distract you. Your grade is based off of a mid-term, a 4pg paper, and the final which makes it VERY hard to do well. Don't take... =[
HIST2100
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS MAN. If you must, be sure to talk to your TA if you want to be able to understand anything at all or know what you need to do.
HIST2100
Hard to understand, low voice. I gave up after day 3. He's a nice guy, but I really didn't learn anything from him. I did all the work on my own. Two ridiculous tests where he gives you like 25 essay questions which you'll need to know 5, and 100 terms, which you'll need to know about half. Not a good class. Don't take.
Hist2100
t there is no point in coming to class because you cannot understand him, he speaks softly and in a monotone voice and it's extremely easy to tune him out and not listen at all. one test a final and a paper, he gives you the study guide long before the exam, so all you have to do is do that and your fine. the quizes r only xtra credit. Get out now
hist2100
very bad accent, soft spoken, dont hear him at all unless in the front row, hand writing on the bored is the worst thing your eyes may lay upon. stay away....very far away
HIST3882
He is difficult to understand but if you ask he will try to clarify and sometimes spells out words to help. You must read the book and come to class. There are pop quizzes! His tests are essay and brutal. Be very detailed, he likes that. Study groups are very helpful. He almost always goes over time so don't schedule classes tight so you can stay!
HIST2100
Lectures, barely speaks English, dry humor, take attendance, 2 essay form tests (impossible). One 5 page research paper (harsh grading).
HIST2100
Really hard time in this class; the professor speaks very softly and it really hard to understand. Had to resort to reading the book outside of class, as well as inside to even know what he was talking about... He doesn't speak loud enough to hear at the back. When talking to him about my grade and the upcoming paper, he didn't help with anything!
HIST2100
He is initially hard to understand, but once you show up and pay attention for a couple classes, he is easy to understand. He knows his accent is difficult to comprehend so he will usually clarify if needed. He is very helpful, and gives you a semester study guide. He essentially gives you the answers. I learned so much about American History!!!
HIST2100
This professor is ridiculous. He mumbles through his accent, making him nearly impossible to understand, posing a seriously dilemma considering he lectures straight from the book all the time. He is insulting, his teaching style is ineffective, and he fails to engage the classroom at all.
hist2100
He cancelled class once because he had a job interview. I couldn't understand him at all. Maybe he should just stick to research.
hist2100
Can't understand a word the man says. He teaches straight from the book, and the only reason you should go to class is because he takes attendance. 2 tests and 1 paper. Save yourself- get out while you can!!!
HIST211
Can't understand a word he says, and you can tell that much of what he teaches comes straight from the book, which is what I would expect from someone who is from Africa and has his Doctorate in Africana Studies that is teaching American History...History Department must have been low on qualified profs.
