Not an easy class, but the professor is smart and teaches the topics well and is fair and understanding without being too lenient. Good note taking and personal motivation is a must.

Very challenging course. Once I took his advice and read the section BEFORE his lecture, things made sense. Underwood is super clear, derives formulas, and works sample problems. He grades fairly, knows his stuff, and seems to award those who show effort. Highly recommend, just be prepared to work hard.

Great professor, very smart guy, understanding, helpful, EASY TESTS but YOU MUST have good study skills to understand his lecture READ CHAPTER BEFORE CLASS. He doesn't check to see if the class is paying attention or following him (most dont read and complain), BUY THE BOOK even tho you can use online system free, use your syllabus to stay ahead

Prof. Underwood is a nice guy, but he's very unorganized when it comes to teaching. You have to do lots of practice & take good notes. Hard tests, hard homeworks, easy labs. Only takes attendance when it's the day you have lab. Helpful if you have troubles with the problems.

So disappointed. Was it a fluke? The classes were painful. I am a Sci. major, and this was tough. I need a teacher with life, enthusiasm, organization- to bring it to life. He seems "over it", and teaches as if you've had all the math and science that ARE NOT pre-reqs, making it SO easy to get lost. Sadly, I hear he is one of the better ones.

Very clear and focused teaching style. Super awesome too - he allowed me to do an informal transfer to his class. I recommend him!

A great class for serious physics students. Don't attempt EP if you don't have a good physics background (I recommend Friedrichsen's college physics first). Lectures involve a high level of abstraction. He's brilliant, so don't expect to follow him step for step, just plug away at the homework and reading. A privilege to have taken his classes.

Lectures could be confusing if you can't keep up with the pace. But overall nice guy and will help out if you need it. Do the homework and go to class, or you'll be lost

His class is not very funny, but it is very clear. if you wnat a good grade in this class, read the book yourself,do the homework and lab. He would allow you to bring a sheet of paper when you have a test, so you shold be sure you understand all the equation and how to use it, then you will be fine in this class.

Professor Underwood is a kind man. He knows that most of his students will or attending the University of Texas. So he treats them as such. This can be good but mostly not to your advantage. He derives equations instead of showing how to do the problems in the book, yet he does a wonderful job showing the real world application to the function.

A very caring and competent instructor. Dr. Underwood has much enthusiasm for the subject matter and for teaching.
