The best professor I have taken at RU. just amazing. actually cares about his students. class is FUN. 2 exams and multiple FUN group activities. strongly recommend him

There is a few group projects within your assigned group with a TA. They are pretty easy. There is no HW. You do not have to do the readings. Take notes and all the classes are lectures. If you want to leave early, write your name down on the paper being handed around and leave right after you sign it. Midterm is 3 questions(each 2 pages) and MC

The professor and classes were really laid back and not difficult. One 5+ paged paper in the beginning, and assignments were just the online readings (not mandatory, but recommended). Professor Magyar was definitely approachable and very enthusiastic about what he teaches. Take him!

probably the best teacher at rutgers. class is a joke. Magyar is the nicest teacher at the school. Although he does have a speech impediment he makes up with it with his passion on the subject. Definitely take this class.

Took his summer course-Workers Movements in NJ. Amazing and highly interesting course. He taught with passion, enthusiasm, and offered a chance for true class discussion. There were two field trips, too! Very exciting stuff. He was good about missing a class or two and the midterm and final were a little easier than expected. Overall - he's an A+!

Prof. Magyar taught an interesting and engaging class about a less-than-engaging topic. His knowledge of the NJ Statehouse and of NJ politics is unmatched, and he was able to place the New Jersey-centric materials into the greater context of public policy choices faced throughout the nation. I would highly recommend one of his classes.

Extremely knowledgeable and interesting man, who has a lot to contribute to his students. Learned quite a bit in this class. Plus he has a great sense of humor! Fair midterm and final exams.

Great Professor! Took a boring topic and made it a lot of fun. I looked forward to class even in a condensed summer session, at 8 hours/week. Exams were very fair - you'll do well if you pay attention and come to class. He cares about the students and really is passionate about what he teaches. You won't regret taking a class taught by Mark Magyar.

I admire Professor Magyar very much. He is an amazing professor. Very interactive class, he is always enthusiastic and he knows how to make students enjoy Labor Studies. I did read the "readings" on Sakai because he selected them very well and they are quite interesting. Respect, for the most loved professor at Rutgers.

Professor Magyar does a very good job of getting the class involved and keeping the classes interesting. He does have a pronounced speech impediment which he more than makes up for with his extensive knowledge and genuine interest in his students. There is a fair amount of reading and papers, but the class has a very good dynamic. Recommended.

This professor is the best one i"ve had so far at rutgers! He is a very sensitive, easygoing compassionate man who is passionate about his field. On the first day of class he asked students about themselves and WROTE IT ALL DOWN! There should be more professors like this man; he has integrity.
