This is the best class I have ever taken. I really don't understand how anything this man says can be construed as confusing. I have never had a teacher engage me so completely and for 3 hours no less!

Really great class. Kind of a challenge, but assuming you do the work and take notes, no reason you should not be able to get an A. Has a distaste for students who miss class, so don't do it. Weekly quizzes were pretty straight forward, final is open book (it's a casebook though) quality notes will take you far. Favorite class at SFSU thus far.

I honestly enjoyed this class tremendously. Wagstaffe is hilarious and has a great way of keeping his students engaged. He makes random little jokes throughout class and likes to call people out who aren't paying attention. Other than that, the weekly quizzes on the reading were BEYOND easy and his midterm and final are all open book. Not bad!

Wagstaffe is a solid teacher, but as a lawyer, he teaches the class almost exclusively through that perspective. It would be interesting to see how the other professor teaches it and whether they address ethics at all.

He's a funny guy, but it's still a tough class! Beware! He is a lawyer, so he teaches the class from a law perspective, and talks VERY fast, and doesn't really stop to take questions. He's of the opinion that if you suck at his class, it's your own fault, and there's nothing he can do about it.

Very entertaining but he talks way too loud. I guess at least that keeps you awake and on your toes. He calls on you unexpectedly, the trick is to maintain eye contact with him, otherwise you stand to get called on. Learned a lot, 2 tests and 1 paper, both fairly hard but not too bad. Ivo is great teacher too, sometimes a nice change.

Great speaker, engaging, not a push over. Don't ask questions he just answered (or stupid ones) or covered last class. I think it irritates him and the rest of the class - if you read the text book you wouldn't be so confused. He expects a lot but he's willing to compromise and is understanding.

He is a great teacher with a lot of sense of humors; however, he tends to talk too much and doesn't listen to students. When asing questions, he excuses like he doesn't have time. I liked him but couldn't pass the class... I would recommend him only if you want hard work.

I thought that class would be boring, but it turned out to be enjoyable. It really not a surprise, though, considering Prof. Wagstaffe also teaches public speaking at Stanford, so he's good in front of a group, and he's a lawyer (that's what he does for a living, he only teaches because he likes to). He really knows how to engage a group. Ivo Labar (who co-taught the class) is pretty cool, too.

One of the best professors I've ever had. AMAZING speaker. The 3-hour law class was interesting and went by very fast. He's one of the best lawyers in San Francisco, if not the state. Open-notebook midterm and final. One paper. Three quizes. If you read and take notes, there's not reason to not get an A. He's amazing. Left the class in awe.

Wagstaffe is the absolute best. He's interesting, entertaining and simply a fantastic professor. He take what could otherwise be a very boring topic, mass comm law, into something interesting. I'd highly recommend taking any class he has to offer.
