"Respected by students" "Participation matters" "Gives good feedback"

She is one of my favorite professors to date. She is hilarious in her descriptions of the middle east. Her lectures are captivating. She is teeny tiny but her words and wit are sharp. She doesn't care if you can memorize. She wants you to understand and think critically about the topics. I wish I was a freshman so I could take more of her sections.

Dr. D is my favorite professor on campus. She's an easy grader and makes class very interesting and entertaining. I have taken her twice, and wish I could take her again! You don't have to go to class, but why wouldn't you want to? I highly recommend her!

She is a brilliant woman with a PhD and law degree. She is married to the legendary Tony Chase and is close friends with President Crazy! She's amazing!

She was a great professor and class was always very interesting. I enjoyed most of the topics that were discussed. She is awesome but beware. She will overload you with work at the end of the semester because she does not follow her syllabus and then tries to catch up at the end. This course required a lot of reading and writing.

EXCELLENT professor! She is a great discussion moderator, and is so good at making such a serious subject understandable and even humorous. She's really funny! Her assignments aren't that hard and she's a pretty easy grader. One of my favorite profs at UH for sure.

Modern ME-> Dr. Dina is awesome. Her style is engaging and fun; the readings were interesting and fairly easy, but you are required to write a paper for each book. She went out of her way to be objective about the Middle East (kinda frustrating, but I prefer a little bit of opinion in my profs). Overall, a very enjoyable class. Recommended.

She is not your conventional professor, very eccentric lady. She is very flexible with due dates and keeps the class interesting. I would have liked a little bit more small group projects to get to meet the people in the class, but overall women studies is worth taking with this professor.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! Easily the best professor I've had at the University of Houston. She was extremely flexible with due dates and let out class 30 minutes early every single class. I was never stressed about her assignments. There are a lot of small writing assignments, but they are very simple and if you attend class they are extremely easy!

I don't care about WOST at all, but Dr. Dina is able to create really interesting discussions. I totally thought this class was going to be about female empowerment, but really it has you question (in a positive way) what your beliefs are and why you believe in them. There is a lot of writing in this class, but it is all very simple. I got an A

I don't care about women studies at all, but Dr. Dina made it interesting. Her intro class wasn't about feminism, which I was afraid of, but rather to question and understanding the status quo. There was a lot of reading and writing involved, but it was easy. The whole course was easy, I recommend it if you need the credit. Dr. Dina is great.

I had no interest in this class and took it on a whim. I found her to be very interesting, extremely eccentric. She likes to leave class early and cancels to let students prepare their essays. There's a lot of reading and essay writing, but the class was fairly easy.

Very engaging, and super easy class. When she lectures, it is easy to follow and not boring. Her class is easy and she will let you turn in late work. I turned in all of the essays for her class (4 in total) the last week of school and I still made an A. Other than that, the class is great and informative.

Dina is a nice lady, and is passionate about what she teaches, but the unstructured format, and heaps and heaps of work assigned bring this class down a notch. Still, there's a lot to be learned and fun to be had in her class. Recommended.

I took Modern Middle East. She's a good professor, teaches the subject in an interesting manner to keep you engaged, BUT there is a lot of novel reading and writing papers over the books. There's also a final research paper, two quizzes, and maybe some extra small assignments thrown in here and there (like on movies shown in class).

Very bias teacher, does favor student and will shun student comments in class. Lots of writing and wants her perspective on book reviews. Very interesting subject but taking it with her has nothing to do with subject.

Very engaging teaching style. Many students complain that there's a lot of reading, but not anymore than any other history class. Assignments aren't unreasonable, but you might have to reorganize the syllabus so that you don't miss due dates. She's flexible and will treat you like an adult IF you act like an adult. Would take another class!

First off all this is politic and history course dont be fooled by the title. Her lectures are good but her syllabus sucks and she is strict on her grading. she want our analysis and opinion but its not the way she view then you get a low grade.A+ is possible but will have to put in work. 4 book reviews, 8 pg research paper,2 quiz, 1 presentation.
