Incredibly knowledgeable person. PhD from Vanderbilt in philosophy, so he legitimately knows his stuff. Grades tough, but the course is very passable as long as you don't do the essays at the last minute. Allows open discussion in class, so there's the potential for a lot of participation. If you're into philosophy, this will be your favorite class

PHI 1111 Taken for Credit:Yes Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Everything you need to do to succeed in this class is very clearly explained in the syllabus. Those who complain about this professor did not read their syllabuses! This class is hard, especially online. Don't take it online if you aren't self-motivated enough to read the (admittedly long) syllabus! It is a college class! It ain't high school!

Very hard class. You have to have perfect grammar without any mistakes, do two long perfect essays to get a perfect grade and weekly assignments. You are basically on your own in this course.

Do NOT take online! FYI:41 students started the class; 14 finished. Extremely difficult textbook.Writing assignments are weekly with readings from the txtbk(HARD questions!). No tests.Mid-term & Final paper,10-12 pages for each paper. He is more interested in grammar and format than ideas. Certainly not an introductory class. VERY DIFFICULT ONLINE!!

By far one of the best teachers I have ever had. Some may argue he lacks clarity in expectations but I believe that is simply another lesson he teaching. I once had a teacher that was a member of MENSA and he too lacked direction. Read the material, come to class ready to challenge his ideas (he enjoys a challenge) and stand fast in your beliefs.

This professor is awful. It is an intro to ethics course and he treats you like philosophy grad students. He talks down to you and does not answer questions. He gives assignments without guidelines and then fails the majority of the class for not meeting the unannounced guidelines.
