Very helpful guy in a class that seems to be designed to dissuade people from becoming journalists. Funny and well informed. Just keep clear of spelling and style errors and you'll have a blast with this guy.

Rafael is great. This class honestly made me a better writer, and that's the point of being here, so I'm satisfied. Sure, the requirements are strict, but 10 clips in a semester is not a ridiculous number. Start EARLY, get your contacts lined up, write your stories, and PROOFREAD in class and you're good.

Raphael was amazing. He gave us so much more information than the simple cirriculum. He gave us his real life experience as a reporter. I would take this class again if I could.

very cool guy, great teacher, and very VERY nice on the eyes. bootcamp wasn't really anything with him. made the class lots of fun, i found myself constantly looking forward it every week (mind you it does help that he's nice to look at.) bosox fan, incredibly intelligent, and genuinely interested in journalism.

JOUR 201 is a particularly difficult initiation class into journalism, but Lorente does make the process easier. As long as you don't make factual & spelling errors and use the AP Style book, you should do fine. If you have an interest in politics or sports, definitely take his class.

Rafael is a funny guy and genuinely wants people to improve and do well. He is helpful and responsive in both e-mail and in person. He's a tough grader though, and a stickler for accuracy. But for this subject that's important, so the toughness is understandable.
