"Tests are tough" "Lectures are long" "Pop quiz master"

I dreaded this class. He is the most disorganized person I know. He doesn't care about his students. More than 50% of the class dropped the course after the first week. He treats his students as inferiors.

Dr. Barquet is an excellent Spanish professor - one of the best I've had! He teaches you A LOT, but he's organized and explains the information really well. He's also helpful in answering questions and clarifying concepts. Attendance is important if you want to learn the material and do expect to stay the entire time.

Although he knows his Spanish grammar VERY WELL,he is useless when it comes to being a classroom guide. He rambles about whatever it is he wants to ramble on for that day and will tell you that you just don't understand amongst asking questions. Yes you will learn ut it will NOT be a good learning experience.

SPAN 416 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

A tough teacher with high expectations, but everything he does is to help the students. If you do the reading and pay attention when he talks, you should be fine. He'll work with you as long as he knows you're trying, and he has a great sense of humor. He's very enthusiastic about what he teaches. Don't expect to leave early, but you'll learn a lot

This was the worst graduate course I have ever taken. Prof. Barquet did no research at all on the topic and "taught" the ideas he came up after reading the texts, in spite of all the research on the topic. When you ask him for his resources, he just ignores you and tells you that you would not understand his resources.

He teaches from the second class starts to the second it ends. He literally breaks a sweat from how much writing and talking he does in the hour and a half. Amazing professor though. I recommend being at least fairly comfortable in grammar (eng or span) before taking this class.

He is a super hard teacher, as a native speaker I could not keep up but if you really want to know your grammar this dude will teach it to you. I had to drop because it was way to hard for me anyway.

Its a tough class. Started out with around 20 kids and now only 9 remain. The tests make or break you, so you have to study. But I did learn my grammar.

He's great. He's really funny, and, because he's totally hyper, you never get bored. He knows the language unbelievably well, and has a way of keeping everyone involved and interested.

He is very energetic and is apparently a native Spanish speaker, so he really knows the language. He explains the material thoroughly(though often in Spanish) and clearly. The class is fairly easy as long as you keep up with the homework and do it before class!
