The class wasn't too bad. The professor did come across as pompous, but he treated everyone fairly. He did not baby anyone. There are pop-quizzes and the exams are essays. If you don't like showing up to class and having to read what is assigned, then the class is not for you.

loves to hear himself talk, stands in front of class and repeats everything that is on the powerpoint. takes random quizzes throughout the semester and likes to do it at the end of class so that people who leave early will not get credit. i would recommend the book, but you may not need it. avoid this class if you don't like sarcastic teachers.

Easily one of the worst professors I've taken. He loves to hear his opinion repeated back to him. Listen in class and get to know what he thinks and then write your paper on that. He gave me an incomplete on a big paper, I met with him, he doesn't know what is wrong with it, but still hasn't given me a grade. I'm excited for this class to be over.

Great professor. People who aren't able to adapt to a changing teaching enviorment might not enjoy the class. Take it for what it is and youll have a great time.

Plain and simple, do not take him. All he does is stand in front of the classroom and read off the powerpoint while you take notes. He loves to hear himself talk and is very full of himself. I have never received a "C" in any college class before his due to his poor guidelines and teaching abilities. Thumbs down for James Tracy.

Professor Tracy gets a lot of undeserved hate. His class on culture and conspiracy was very insightful, and certainly thought provoking. Writing the essays are a breeze if you put in minimal-moderate effort, and the test questions are given in advance. Being introduced to Jim Marrs's book and movies such as Thrive alone make the class worth taking.

This proffesor is as worthless as his teaching.... Nothing intresting was taught, in fact, he taught against anything useful in the field of communications...avoid him at all costs....you'll end up trying to pass his awkardly strict teaching policies rather than passing relavent career material... and he loves to hear himself talk

Professor Tracy's class was a pleasure to take. Yes - you have to read about 30 pgs and write a 1.5-2 pg paper weekly and you are only allowed 1 unexcused absence. That said, it wasn't as bad as people make it seem. If you do the work and pay attention, the tests won't be that bad. HE GIVES YOU THE Qs 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE. I learned A LOT. Refreshing

This class is much better than his mass comm theory class. He demands a lot out of his students, but he is fair. He is a big intellectual and likes to have long discussions during class. He requires short papers for each class, but is pretty liberal on the grading.

This professor only likes to do one thing, and that is hear himself talk. He has an extremely condescending personality and thinks he is such an intellectual it comes off as been arrogant and annoying. His class is more like a graduate level class. Be prepared to write papers every week and do lots of readings. Exams are HUGE essays w/ no notes.SUX

Prof. Tracy is by far one of the most unsympathetic professors alive. If your late for a 'pop' quiz you can't take it, you have to write a paper almost every week. His tests are extremely difficult, they are all essays. You have to work very hard in this class and do every single reading, quiz, test, and paper to get a good grade.

Comes off pompous and is not the easiest person to talk to. He expects his students to grasp difficult concepts with little guidance. Rarely lectures but rather has his students talk about the weekly reading assignment that often lead to nowhere as he critiques. Probably the most unsympathetic professors I have ever had.

I took several of Dr. Tracy's courses. And I will say this: I learned at least twice as much in his class. I read, listened, and participated and really got a lot from his style. If you want to sleep in class take something else...or just forget college. If you try you'll get an A.

He's not easy, there is a large amount of dense reading and he has no tolerance for the 'Boca-brats' who come to class hoping their charm and money will help them get a good grade. He invites intelligent debate but will crush those who don't know how to read, spell or in general belong in remedial reading and writing class. Listen and learn.

Prof. Tracy gets a bad reputation because he has no favorites and is not afraid to tell you if you are lazy or need to work harder. If you follow instuctions well and read what you are suppose to then you should be able to pass this class with no problems... if you don't like reading then look for a different class.

I took him twice & got As! He's honestly not as bad as he seems! If you do the work & make good points in your papers your fine! You just have to compare everything. I worked hard for my As but it was worth it,I learned a lot! And NO he didn't persuade me to think a certain way! Work hard and expect to do a lot of writing!

He isn't the easiest professor at FAU; probably one of the hardest. However, he uses a technique that allows his students to think and be involved. As long as you do what you are supposed to do and show and interest as well as prepare yourself, you will be fine. I liked him very much!

One of the toughest profs I've ever had. Group work requires group editor & group members the editor must rely on. Editors do more work, then are graded on that just like the others who do less regardless of how often others slack off. Undeserved C while group members got As & Bs; retaking to bring GPA back up. Not excited but I won't accept a C!!

Took Dr Tracy's class for the first time. at first I was scare because of the previous responses on ratemyprof, but it was the exact opposite. Tracy class was easy and interesting. Got the lowest grade on the mid term, and still finished with a B!!!
