CFIN300 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

He did not go over any concepts. He expects you to learn everything on your own including the calculator. Don't expect him to help you either as he just makes everything even more confusing. All he does is go over textbook questions that are not similar to the exams at all!

good guy but tough, prepares you for fin400 and beyond. this course is not a walk in the park. must complete homework before classes, participate and learn to use the calc on your own. no bonus marks, no mercy, no friends. this course is all blood and sweat

CFIN300 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

I would not recommend taking John Currie as he does not go over concepts or lecture. All he does is take up 3hrs and goes through the textbook questions which are not similar to the exams.

CFIN300 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: It's a must have Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Good guy, he goes over problems in class to try and prepare you for the tests he responds fairly quick to emails and you can tell he really wants his students to succeed

CFIN300 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

Did not attend a single class because he only takes up homework that he assigns. The midterm and final were fair. Like most of the FIN 300 profs he does not teach the calculator, however it is not hard to learn how to use on your own.

CFIN 300 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

I found John not helpful at all, exam questions were nothing like the textbook questions assigned. Responds to e-mails but doesn't directly answer questions. Expects you to teach yourself how to use the calculator (a BIG annoyance for a course like this). If you want/need a prof that explains concepts well and helpfully DO NOT choose him.

Very passionate about teaching and engaging everyone in class, rare qualty! Witty, has charming sense of humor and cute to boot! I love attending his class. Wish the class would never end. Anybody know what other classes he teaches at Ryerson? I'm hooked.

CFIN300 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: It's my life Grade Received: N/A

Fantastic teacher that encourages class participation and is very clear with his answers when questions arise. John will always be there via e-mail, should you ever need him, and will provide you with the appropriate help if you should so seek it! Few tips when taking his class: No laptops, participation is key, and no lectures for FIN300!

Possibly my favourite Ryerson teacher so far. He contributed to the love of finance and investing that I have since pursued. He made what would be a difficult topic for me very easy to conceptualize.

He's really helpful. If you have a question email him. Use the practice exams if you can find them. Understand how to use the Calculator!!! program it too. Come to class hes the best teacher for FIN300
