Instruction was horrible to non-existent. He has a certain smugness, or arrogance, that permeates his lectures; combine that with the fact his lectures were filled with political rants, and you have nearly an Orwellian environment.
This instructor was not good. He spent far too much time on his personal politics, going so far as to complain(more than once) about the School Administration during class. Lecture attendance is mandatory, but very little is ever accomplished.
I took Data Structures with Fisk. He is a good teacher. The class was smooth-going and he was very helpful and forgiving. If you have to implement what you learn in this class, then it won't be easy no matter how you look at it, so I gave the difficulty a 'moderate' instead of 'easy.' I do wish I had come out of it with a bit more knowledge though.
I just took this class thinking of switching my major from business to BIS. This teaching ruined computers for me and he will do the same for you. Nothing he talks about is on the tests,but the labs are simple.
His lectures are boring and aren't relevant to the material we're supposed to learn. His style of lecture is if all of us know the material to begin with. His tests aren't related to the textbooks that much and are usually obscure lecture facts from his class. His grading is also very hard.
