"There for you"

Kellermeier is one of my most favorite teachers not just since college, but my entire life. He is unique, smart, kind, and will go out of his way to help you understand the material. Math in Society is a great class, but very different. It's not your usual math class. Kellermeier made learning math fun.

GREAT instructor. The class moves fast because it is a 10 credit course. John is a great instructor. His lessons are well prepared and straight to the point.

His teaching approach is really love-it or hate-it for people, but I really liked it. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Kellermeier is charmingly nice, approachable, and really makes the information interesting. Class is fastpaced, grouporiented (get a good group!), and lots of busy work. Study the book, participate, you'll get an A. :)

I might as well have taken the online course...This was an extremely difficult class, as we had to TEACH OURSELVES. Teacher does not explain much and always refers you to the syllabus. He wrote his own book with lots of errors, but it's cheap $20. Make sure you have a good study group, because they will be your teachers. I DO NOT recommend him.

I have never been real good at math and slacked off the first time taking the linked. Mr. K said I could retake the class in the next quarter and I would have all help needed, but would need to work my tail off. So far week 7/11 has gone very well. John Kellermeier wants to see all his students succeed. Take this class and trust the man

I completed the non-linked Statway class. Math 136 is tough, a lot more formulas that require memorization and processes rather than filling in the blanks with the numbers your calculator gives you. Mr. K is hands down the best math teacher I have ever had and I will continue to suggest students take this course.

I took the statway course with him over two quarters. Great teacher, liked the real world problems as it made statistics applicable to real life. Attendance is not mandatory, but you will regret it if you miss class as the formulas get really complicated and they build on one another.Group work sucked , but it did help with learning. Recommended!

He's a great guy overall. He is extremely helpful, and he helps students not be confused. Sometimes his lessons are hard to understand, but it is not too bad. I would highly recommend him as a Statistics teacher

Mr. Kellermeier wrote his own book, making it really cheap ($25) for you. You must be motivated enough to teach yourself and to reach out when you need help. No homework assignments are turned in but it will benefit you if you do them. It's a really fast faced class but if you focus and do your work you should come out with an A no problem.

His class is more if the students teach each other or teach yourself and seek tutoring. I don't recommend this class for a student who is very detailed oriented or conventinal teaching. Good Luck!

I had zero interest in statistics before this class, and now I really like it! Mr. Kellermeier wants you to succeed. This is not an "easy A" class by any means. There is a lot of independent study required, but you have all the resources at your finger tips to succeed in this course. My only complaint about the class is the amount of group work.

Professor K is definitely passionate about his work and willing to help students. He incorporates ethnic and gender studies into the homework problems. He also teaches some Sociology classes so he's great at dealing with students from different backgrounds.

Math in Society class AKA Ethnomathmatics. He wrote the "textbook" which is all online. If you look up his name in google you can find it right now. Wonderful teacher, fun class, and really easy to get a good grade in. Attendance can be made up easily but its easier if you go every day.

I liked his class a lot, but it was very fast paced. Many people struggled in the class and I had to tutor them. He gives you the book and makes you learn for yourself instead of him explaining the concepts. I liked this method, but still many struggled. It?s his own book, which makes it cheaper. If you?re naturally good at math, you?ll do great.

Seriously one of the easiest math classes I have ever taken. The homework isn't turned in which I liked the most and it was mainly 4 to 5 problems a night. A bonus is you can get tons of extra credit so I don't understand how anyone can get lower than a C. Didn't like working in teams much or group quizzes.

Homework is not graded but 1 point of ex cr is given if a student puts a problem on the board. This is VITAL to getting a good grade in the class. If you get behind it's tough to get a good grade. You teach yourself. He only lectures on prbms on the board. LOTS of group work.

I took this class because he had such high ratings... He does offer alot of extra credit but if you are the type of student that needs lectures in math than don't take this class! You basically teach yourself you do all the homework before class and then discuss it the next day. As far as group work goes he requires alot of it and if youre group su
