It depends how well you know Spanish. The readings are not impossible. It is hard to guess what she wants to hear during lectures and she will laugh at you. my tests and essays were graded fairly. she responds quickly to email and is understanding if you miss class. Study abroad is S. America before taking the class and she will love you.

I dreaded going to this class. She would stare at you until you gave any answer...and when you answered incorrectly she would point her finger at you and say "NO NO NO". There are two tests in the class and they are the entire grade. My only advice is to speak up, even if you are unsure of yourself, and keep guessing until she says "CORRECTO!".

She is nice enough lady, but not a great teacher. Class is very boring and consists of her trying to get you to guess her way of analyzing literature. She also is a very hard grader, but doesn't offer you advise to improve.

She's got a raspy voice and a weird accent, so be careful since the class is in Spanish. She spends a long time trying to get you to guess what she's thinking. If you're wrong, she laughs at you. She's tenured.

Intro to Hispanic Lit... she's miserable... can't hear her, picks ridiculously hard readings, asks really odd questions, really difficult tests... my class had to go to the dept. head and complain about her teaching methods... she's miserable... stay away
