Voigt definitely knows his field very well, yet he does not convey the information in a comprehensible way. This course is much more difficult than an EK131/132 should be in terms of content and workload. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

This professor was absolutely useless and unclear. He preferred to talk about all the technical details that he himself had studied and knew about instead of teaching us the basics of engineering. Get out of his module!!
BE401
Voigt tries to teach the course but since he is no longer writing the exams, the material he teaches is close to irrelevant. He does not understand how to convey the new material and lets his teaching fellows teach.

You could tell that he really knew what he was talking about, but for an intro EK class, his lectures just went over everyone's head. Fortunately, he would run out of things to talk about after an hour, so our classes never lasted the full 2 hours. Even still, it was a pretty unbearable class...

WARNING: WORST PROFESSOR EVER! Do not take this professor for any class, ever. In EK 131 he only teaches with powerpoint. I learned absolutely nothing in this class. When he doesn't show up to class, you will quickly find out you're not the only one who feels they haven't learned a THING in this class. Avoid this professor at all costs.
EK 131/132
Prof Voigt definitely knows his material in the field of hearing (his work appears in the text). The material is very technical and complicated, though, so usually it is hard to understand what's going on. He's more than willing to explain something if you ask though. The most interesting part of the course was the human aspect of the course.
BE 200
Voigt is a terrible, unprepared, uninterested teacher. He read straight from an unpublished book that contained an unreasonable amount of equations that may as well been in ancient greek. Manway, the tf, taught the entire class at review sessions and wrote the tests and homework. Do not take this prof. Take the 4 credit probability if you have to.

Worst Professor Ever. Had him for EK131/132 and BE200. Simply incompetent. Cares more about his life than his class. Reads out of the book and doesn't know anything about class. TF taught/graded/assigned everything. Avoid this professor for ALL classes. He is one of the worst engineering professor's ever. See below comments if you do not agree.

He reads out of the book, which is not helpful at all. I stopped going to lecture. The GTF is very helpful in explaining the concepts. If you want to know what is going on in this class, as questions during discussion and do the homework. Go to review sessions before exams, and if you study, you'll do fine. Overall quite hard for a 2 credit class.
EK131/EK13

I thought this class would be fun. It turned out to be a bore, only because of Voigt. Very dry and boring. His research work is dull in the field of BME. Recommended against taking this class if you are BME and even if your not. Take it as a last resort. Recommended: Tissue Engineering as EK131/132 elective

only go for his class if the university forces you to... he expects people to know stuff that are way more advanced than what freshmans would know..

Lecture was a complete waste of time. Never taught us anything that was remotely useful for the insanely long pre-labs. Always spent half the lecture just talking about ABET and his dog or something else unrelated to our labs.
